HARVEST FAST DAY: The envelopes and Live Simply pledges will be collected at all Masses this week-end. They are a true reflection of our generosity not only in cash terms but practical solidarity with those people in the world who are less well off than ourselves. Envelopes/ pledge-sheets still available. NEXT SUNDAY the 9.30 will be a Childrens Mass. OCTOBER is the month of the Holy Rosary. The Rosary will be said after the 9am Mass on Mon, Wed, Thu & Fri and before the evening Mass on Tues. All welcome HOSPICE 200 CLUB; The yearly 12.00 subscription is now due. Collections will be taken at all Masses this week, and the next two weeks. New members are very welcome. There are 2 draws a year and 2 Donations sent to the Hospice each year. Last year St. Josephs donated 1700.00. Many thanks. SVP: The Saint Vincent De Paul Society cares for those in need and would welcome new members. The monthly meeting is on Thurs at 6.30p.m in the Presbytery (Tel: Bill Drake 733985). CHILDRENS LITURGY at the 9.30 Mass: If you are interested in helping on the rota please contact Christine Woods (722922) ST PETERS SCHOOL Harvest Party: The children would like to invite the Senior Citizens of the parish to their annual Harvest th Party on Wednesday 12 October at 1.30pm. CHILDRENS CONCERT for CAFOD: Sat 3 Dec. Please contact Mike Zammitt (794589) or Christine Woods (722922) if you would like to take part. More details to follow. ADVANCE NOTICE that Lytham Operatic Singers will be returning on Saturday 12th November with more Songs from the Shows. Tickets available soon. ANNUAL MASS COUNT for the next three Sundays. SOLEMN EXPOSITION: Sat 22 & Sun 23 Oct. This takes place annually in each parish. Lists will be available shortly for watching before the Blessed Sacrament over the two days, closing with Benediction on the Sunday at 4pm. CAFOD Monthly Prayer Meeting at St. Anthonys Preston on th Thurs 20 Oct, 11am 1pm, on the theme of St. Luke and incl. a shared lunch. See poster for details. COFFEE MORNING: We are invited to a monthly coffee morning at Our Lady Star of the Sea Parish Centre. The next one is on the th 14 Oct, 10am 12noon. (free entry). CELEBRATING CREATION CONFERENCE: Next Saturday Oct 15th at Lancaster University Chaplaincy Centre, 10am. The theme Living in and defending Creation will be presented by two nationally known speakers. They will develop an understanding of Christian ecology and the practical steps we can take as individuals and parish communities. Workshops include St Bede's work towards improving their sustainability, and our own parish's involvement in the Live Simply award. Details at www.lancasterfaithandjustice.co.uk . See poster.
