CURRICULUM a. Curriculum Benchmarking Using National and International Standards This descriptive-comparative research aims to provide an analysis of the degree and quality of the match between the KSAVDs of the university curricula across programs and the KSAVDs based on national and international standards. b. Competencies of Students Entering Professional Courses The objective of this research is to evaluate the general education competency of students entering professional courses. The results of this descriptive-evaluative research will be used to guide the placement of students in either or both traditional and non-traditional academic highways to ensure the potential for academic success. c. Analysis of the Planned-Curriculum, Delivered-Curriculum and ExperiencedCurriculum This research aims to analyze the curriculum content, learning and teaching strategies, assessment processes and evaluation processes as designed, delivered and experienced. d. Tracer Study The main objective of this tracer study is to examine the changes in the career pattern of the graduates of the University of Pangasinan in order to provide basis for evaluation of the current programs of the university. II. LEARNING a. Academic and Socio-Demographic Profile of Incoming First Year Students This is a survey to be conducted every term to be able to obtain a comprehensive profile of the first year students of the University of Pangasinan. This profile will provide valuable information on the nature of students (strengths, weaknesses, readiness, learning styles, etc.) being admitted to the university. Such information will be utilized by the guidance counselors and block advisers for advisement purposes and by those involve in curriculum improvement. b. The Effectiveness of Non-Traditional Teaching Methods in Improving Students Achievement in Various General Education Courses This body of research projects seeks to determine the effectiveness of problembased teaching, research-based teaching, modular approach, technology-based instruction in improving students performance in their various General Education courses. The studies will utilize experimental and quasi-experimental designs to determine the effect of the above-mentioned teaching methods to students performances. c. Correlates of Students Performances

This correlational study shall determine the amount of learning obtained (in terms of mastery level) by the students in different courses across all university programs at the end of a school term and relate this with various factors which may influence student performance (student-related, teacher-related, school-related, family-related, community-related). Philosophy of Learning of the Faculty of the University of Pangasinan This descriptive-correlational research aims to determine the facultys philosophy of learning(how they view learning, i.e. are their practices consistent with the behavioral view, cognitive view, or constructivist view of learning) and relate such view with their performance as teachers. Level of Preparedness of the Faculty in Implementing Non-Traditional Teaching Methods This is a descriptive research which seeks to determine the qualifications/competencies of the faculty for the implementation of non-traditional teaching methods which have been found by research to be effective in making the students learn/helping students achieve. Validity of Teacher-Prepared Assessment Instruments This study will determine if instruments (i.e. teacher-made tests) used to measure student learning have face/content validity and if these instruments measure the ability of the students to engage in higher thinking. Competency Profile of University of Pangasinan Graduates This study shall determine the competencies of graduates (along the areas of communication, problem-solving, technology, human relations, etc.) produced by the University across programs and if these competencies match the ones required by workplace. This study will use the descriptive research method. Effectiveness of the Implementation of Instructional Plans This is a survey to determine if there is objectives-strategies-assessment matching in both the facultys instructional design and their actual teaching. Effectiveness of Academic Support Programs in Improving Student Achievement This is a body of descriptive studies which aim to determine the effectiveness of academic support programs (enhancement programs for Education, Nursing, Engineering, etc., and induction programs in English, Math and Science) in facilitating student learning. Predictors of Success in Licensure Examinations This is a body of correlational studies which aim to determine variables (academic, economic, personal, school-related) which can predict performances in the various professional examinations.

Qualification Profile of Teachers and Its Relationship to Student Performance in the General Education and Professional Education With rising expectation that all students will succeed, it has become more important than ever to evaluate the qualification profile of teachers. Therefore, this study will determine if the qualification of teacher can substantially enhance a students performance. Value System of Teachers and Its Impact in the Teaching-Learning Process Each teacher within the culture of the university has personal values. Even a list of values exists, each teacher would possess her or his own take on those values. As part of the learned and implicit curriculum, identification of fundamental values teachers hold and the magnitude of impact in the teaching-learning process can be a major factor in framing effectiveness in teaching. Methodologies Adopted for the Teaching of Skills, Cognition and Affects This survey will determine metholodogies adopted for the teaching of skills, cognition and affects and will identify the most and least commonly used and the best methodologies. Extent of Teachers Professional Growth and Its Effect on Teaching Performance This research aims to analyze and measure the professional growth of teachers and to determine the effects of that growth on teaching performance. Problems on Designing and Implementing Instructional Plans This is a survey of the problems encountered by faculty members in designing and implementing instructional plan. The result of this study will be used to propose a faculty support model and guiding principles in designing and implementing instructional plan. Impact of Current Teaching Practices on Student Achievement This research aims to describe in more detail teaching practices that have been influential on student achievement. The output will foster inquiry and support fundamental, long-term improvement by offering ideas for teachers to consider and adapt to their circumstances. Best Practices in Teaching General Education and Professional Education Subjects This research aims to identify best practices that can shift teaching to creating educational practices and policies needed to close the achievement gaps and promote excellence in teaching. The research will deal with the content (general education or professional education) and the teaching strategies identified as most likely to have a positive impact on student learning. Teachers Provisions for Various Types of Learners This research will offer new insights concerning the emerging types of learners in order for the teacher to innovate existing practices that would be consistent with the type of learner.

Analysis of Faculty Teaching Performance Evaluation by Deans and Students

This is an analysis of the overall evaluation based on facultys evaluation outcomes in teaching by deans and students. The output of this study can be used to devise a policy that would safeguard concerns that stems from the identification of deficiencies emerging from the analysis of the evaluations. IV. TEACHING-LEARNING a. Effectiveness of Student Consultation System in Addressing Retention This study shall attempt to assess the effectiveness of student consultation system in addressing student retention in the University. More specifically, the study shall look into success of the block advising. b. Reward and Incentive System for Teachers This study shall evaluate into the present reward/incentive system of the university to determine its effects on teaching performance and students learning. c. Motivation Practices of Teachers This study aims to identify the motivation practices of teachers in classroom and to determine the effectiveness of these motivational practices. d. Value Formation in Classroom Activities This study aims to identify the common values taught by teachers across programs, the methodologies in teaching these values and the extent of effectiveness of the methodologies used. e. Student Empowerment in Teaching-Learning Settings This study aims to identify and determine the extent to which teaching-learning activities promote student empowerment. f. Correlation Between Teachers Teaching Attributes and Student Behavior This study aims to determine the correlation of teachers teaching attributes to students behaviors. g. Teacher-Student Attributes that Establish Desirable Classroom Relationship This study aims to identify attributes of both teacher and students that establish desirable or undesirable relationship. It shall also attempt to determine the extent of relationship these attributes may have between the teacher and students.
