please note that these challenges are from the xbox 360 version of the
game and i don't know if other consoles have the same challenges.

to access challenge mode go to game modes then choose challenge mode.

to start with only 10 challenges are playable. these are challenges 1-2 in
region 1 and challenges 1 in regions 2-9. to access the other challenges
you need to unlock them by completing the other challenges first.

there are a total of 105 challenges split over 10 regions.

by completing challenges you gain points that can be spent in the fan shop
on unlockables such as balls and kits. to spend the points go to my fifa
08, ea sportstm extras and fan shop.

one further note is that each time you restart the level using the in-game
menu it with count as a failure in the challenge so another way of
restarting is by going to dashboard and loading up the game again until the
challenge is complete. you need to complete a region without any failures
for the accomplishment book.

general tip [zzg]
*****************

before going into challenge mode you can amend the opposition's formation and
players to help you. for example you can make them have 1 defender at the back
and everyone else up field with all players out of position. to do this go to
the team management menu and choose squads.

also even if the challenge doesn't say you have to win the match in regular
time you still need to win otherwise you won't pass the challenge.

region 1 - england/scotland/ireland [zz1]
*****************************************

there are 15 challenges in region 1. challenges 1.1.-1.2. are available to


play from the start. challenges 1.3.-1.15. need to be unlocked.

you can choose who you play as and who you play against for each of these
challenges. however the better the team you play as the less points you earn
to spend in the shop. to get maximum points you need to use a 0.5 star team.

also to help you the general tip above in [zzg] may be useful.

the best teams in this region are 5 stars. the worst teams are half stars.

1.1. pure and simple


objectives:
* score 1 goal with: ____________.
* win the match in regular time.
difficulty:
* 2 footballs & amateur.
half length:
* 6 minutes.
unlocks:
* 1.3. play smart (if challenge 1.2. is also complete).
* 1.4. hit them early (if challenge 1.2. is also complete).

1.2. just typical


objectives:
* maintain a passing percentage of 50% or higher.
* score one goal with a midfielder.
* win the match in regular time.
difficulty:
* 2 footballs & amateur.
half length:
* 5 minutes.

* 1.3. play smart (if challenge 1.1. is also complete).
* 1.4. hit them early (if challenge 1.1. is also complete).
reward:
* 50-200 points.
tips:
* the passing percentage of 50% is easy so concentrate on scoring with a
midfielder. best way of doing this is by setting the formation 4-5-1 so
you have 5 players you can use to score with.
* if you want to get your passing percentage up just keep passing at the
back.

1.3. play smart


objectives:
* complete 15 successful tackles.
* don't concede any corners.
difficulty:
* 2 footballs & amateur.
half length:
* 4 minutes.
unlocks:
* 1.5. due diligence (if challenge 1.4. is also complete).
* 1.6. last laugh (if challenge 1.4. is also complete).
reward:
* 50-200 points.
tips:
* concentrate on making successful tackles.
* once you have 15 successful tackles try and get a gaol. then pass the ball
around outside your half to try and minimise the threat of conceding a
corner.
* if you concede a corner you will need to restart.

1.4. hit them early


objectives:
* score in under 10 minutes with a midfielder.
* keep a clean sheet.
* win the match in regular time.
difficulty:
* 3 footballs & semi-pro.
half length:
* 5 minutes.
unlocks:
* 1.5. due diligence (if challenge 1.3. is also complete).
* 1.6. last laugh (if challenge 1.3. is also complete).
reward:
* 150-400 points.
tips:
* setting the formation 4-5-1 so you have 5 midfielders you can use to
score with in the first 10 minutes.
* if you don't score with a midfielder in the first 10 minutes then you'll
need to restart.
* if you concede a goal you will need to restart.

1.5. due diligence


objectives:
* get 70% of your shots on target with: ____________.
* win the match in regular time.
difficulty:
* 3 footballs & semi-pro.
half length:
* 5 minutes.
unlocks:
* 1.7. make it count (if challenge 1.6. is also complete).
* 1.8. sure shot (if challenge 1.6. is also complete).

tips:

player with one of the forwards. once you have 1 shot on target from 1 shot
(i.e. 100% shots on target) then don't shoot with him anymore.

1.6. last laugh


objectives:
* win by 4 goals.
* score 1 goal in the last 10 minutes.
difficulty:
* 4 footballs & semi-pro.
half length:
* 5 minutes.

* 300-600 points.
tips:
* go for goals as you need to have 4 more than the opponent's score.
* score in the last 10 minutes with a player.

1.7. make it count


objectives:
* score with a late sub after the 85 minute mark.
* win by 3 goals.
difficulty:
* 5 footballs & semi-pro.
half length:
* 5 minutes.
unlocks:
* 1.10. the main guy (if challenges 1.8. and 1.9. are also complete).
* 1.11. sniper (if challenges 1.8. and 1.9. are also complete).
reward:
* 500-800 points.
tips:
* go for goals as you need to have 3 more than the opponent's score.
* in the second half keep kicking the ball out of play to maximise the amount
of injury time you get (5 minutes is the maximum).
* as soon as 85 minutes comes substitute your three most forward players and
put the ball out of play so they come on. now score a goal with one of them.

1.8. sure shot


objectives:
* score 4 goals.
* get 60% of your shots on target.
difficulty:
* 5 footballs & semi-pro.
half length:
* 4 minutes.
unlocks:
* 1.10. the main guy (if challenges 1.7. and 1.9. are also complete).
* 1.11. sniper (if challenges 1.7. and 1.9. are also complete).
reward:
* 500-800 points.
tips:
* concentrate on getting your shots on target whilst going for 4 goals.
* once you have 4 goals you can check the match facts to see if you have 60%
or more shots on target. if not keep shooting making to get to 60%. once done
you don't need to shoot anymore.

1.9. burning lungs


objectives:
* score 1 goal with: ____________.
* complete 20 dribbles with: ____________.
difficulty:
* 6 footballs & semi-pro.
half length:
* 5 minutes.
unlocks:
* 1.10. the main guy (if challenges 1.7. and 1.8. are also complete).
* 1.11. sniper (if challenges 1.7. and 1.8. are also complete).
reward:
* 660-1,100 points.
tips:

the team. for this challenge i recommend choosing to be the team.

normal position and complete 20 dribbles.
* an easy way to do a successful dribble is to move with the ball and end it
with a pass to a team mate.

25 short passes with into central defence and do 25 short passes (a button).

1.11. sniper
objectives:
* get 100% shots on target with: ____________.

* 1.13. flip flop (if challenge 1.10. is also complete).

target you will have 100% shots on target ratio. now move him into defence
and don't shoot with him anymore.

1.12. barrl of monkeys


objectives:
* score 4 goals: 2 with a mid and 2 with a def.
* win the match in regular time.
difficulty:
* 7 footballs & professional.
half length:
* 5 minutes.
unlocks:
* 1.15. seriously underrated defence (if challenges 1.13. and 1.14. are
also complete).
reward:
* 820-1,300 points.
tips:
* arrange your formation (before the match) so that you have a rwb and lwb
which are quite far up the pitch (nearly up to the halfway line). also have
five midfielders and one forward.
* now score two goals either with the lwb or the rwb. once done score two
goals with a midfielder.
* best way to score with the rwb or lwb is to run them with the ball up the
line to the touchline, then to turn and cut inside into the penalty area
running parallel to the touchline and shoot across the keeper into the far
corner of the goal.
* another way, and easier, of doing this challenge is to play normally and
just before you about to score with a striker, say, press start and go into
the team management menu and swap your striker for the rcb. now score the
goal and you have one goal with a defender so swap the same two players back
to their original positions and repeat to get your second goal with a
defender. now use the same trick on another player to get two goals with a
midfielder.

1.13. flip flop


objectives:
* score 3 goals with: ____________.
* score 3 goals with: ____________.
difficulty:
* 8 footballs & professional.
half length:
* 4 minutes.
unlocks:
* 1.15. seriously underrated defence (if challenges 1.12. and 1.14. are
also complete).
reward:
* 980-1,500 points.

* 1,140-2,000 points.
tips:
* go for an attacking formation.
* go for goals. as soon as one of your players has two goals then move him
into defence and push another man forward. keep doing this until you have
five different goalscorers.
* don't substitute.

1.15. seriously underrated defence


objectives:
* get 100% of your shots on target.
* score 3 goals with a defender.
* win the match in regular time.
difficulty:
* 9 footballs & world-class.
half length:
* 4 minutes.
unlocks:
* 10.1. just survive.
reward:
* 1,140-2,000 points.
tips:
* arrange your formation (before the match) so that you have a rwb and lwb
which are quite far up the pitch (nearly up to the halfway line).
* now score three goals either with the lwb or the rwb. concentrate on keeping
your shots on target.

there are 10 challenges in region 2. challenge 2.1. is available to play
from the start. challenges 2.2.-2.10. need to be unlocked.

you can choose who you play as and who you play against for each of these
challenges. however the better the team you play as the less points you earn
to spend in the shop. to get maximum points you need to use a 0.5 star team.

also to help you the general tip above in [zzg] may be useful.

the best team in this region is lyon in the french ligue 1 with 4.5 stars.
the worst teams are 1 star teams in french ligue 2 and belgium.

2.1. keep it simple


objectives:
* win the match in regular time.
* keep a clean sheet.
difficulty:
* 1 football & amateur.
half length:
* 5 minutes.
unlocks:
* ball hog.
* on fire.
reward:
* 25 - 100 points.
tips:
* if the opposition score then restart.
* this is quite easy so you could pick a weak team to maximise your points
gain to spend in the shop.

2.2. ball hog


objectives:
* keep a possession percentage of 90% or higher.
* win the match in regular time.
difficulty:
* 2 footballs & amateur.
half length:
* 6 minutes.
unlocks:
* 2.4. i've got a stitch (if challenge 2.3. is also done).
* 2.5. it's about the finish (if challenge 2.3. is also done).
* 2.6. who's got a watch? (if challenge 2.3. is also done).
reward:
* 250 points.
tips:
* score a goal and then keep passing the ball around at the back to build
up your possession percentage.
* if you don't score early then restart.

2.3. on fire
objectives:
* score 3 goals in under 15 minutes with: ____________.

* 2.10. mission impossible (if challenge 2.8. is also done).
reward:
* 620 - 1,300 points.
tips:
* go for goals.
* the 5 successful tackles should come during the match.
* avoid using the sliding tackle and try and use the conservative tackle.

2.8. i mean c'mon!


objectives:
* score 6 goals with at least 4 different players.
* never substitute.
difficulty:
* 8 footballs & professional.
half length:
* 5 minutes.
unlocks:
* 2.9. who said you couldn't? (if challenge 2.7. is also done).
* 2.10. mission impossible (if challenge 2.7. is also done).
reward:
* 980 - 1,500 points.
tips:
* before the match put as many strikers unto the pitch as possible.
* go for goals. once you have scored 2 with one guy move all your goal scorers
to the back so that the other players are up front.
* once you have 6 goals with 4 different players then you can move everyone to
their normal positions.

2.9. who said you couldn't?


objectives:
* score 1 goal in under 10 minutes with: ____________.
* complete 25% short passes in the match with: ____________.
difficulty:
* 8 footballs & professional.
half length:
* 5 minutes.
unlocks:
* 10.2. give up now (if challenge 2.10. is also done).

there are 10 challenges in level 3. challenge 3.1. is available to play from
the start. challenges 3.2.-3.10. need to be unlocked.

you can choose who you play as and who you play against for each of these
challenges. however the better the team you play as the less points you earn
to spend in the shop. to get maximum points you need to use a 0.5 star team.

also to help you the general tip above in [zzg] may be useful.

the best teams in this region are in the spanish top league with 5 stars.
the worst team is a 1 star team in the spanish second league.
3.1. well deserved
objectives:
* score one goal in the 2nd half with: ____________.
* complete 25% long passes in the match with: ____________.
* win by 3 goals.
difficulty:
* 2 footballs & amateur.

* in the first half go for goals and completing long passes with your player.
long passes are based on distance so either x (lob pass) or a pressed down a
(short pass) can be used. best way to do it is between the keeper and a central
midfielder.
* in the second half make sure you score with the necessary player.

3.2. five and five


objectives:
* score in under 5 minutes with a defender.
* complete 5 short passes in the second half with: ____________.
* win by 3 goals.
difficulty:
* 3 footballs & amateur.
half length:
* 7 minutes.
unlocks:
* 3.3. shoot to score.
* 3.4. that should do it.
reward:
* 150-400 points.
tips:
* the _________ above is a specific player chosen when you have chosen your
team. the _________ is differet for the two different parts of the challenge.
* the ____________ above changes if you go back out of the challenge and in
again so keep doing until you get the best players for the challenge. for this
challenge it doesn't really matter though.
* arrange your formation (before the match) so that you have a rwb and lwb
which are quite far up the pitch (nearly up to the halfway line). then try and
score in under five minutes with one of these players. you may also want to
play an attacker in these positions to make their shots better (they will
still be classed as a defender as that is the position they are playing).
* another way, and easier, of doing this challenge is to play normally and
just before you about to score with a striker, say, press start and go into

there are 10 challenges in region 10. none of the challenges are available to
play from the start. challenges 10.1.-10.10. need to be unlocked.

you can choose who you play as and who you play against for each of these
challenges. however the better the team you play as the less points you earn
to spend in the shop. to get maximum points you need to use a 0.5 star team.

also to help you the general tip above in [zzg] may be useful.

the best teams in all leagues have 5 stars.


the worst teams have 0.5 stars.

10.1. just survive


objectives:
* keep a clean sheet.

* avoid being caught offside.

tips:
* if you concede a corner you will need to restart.
* arrange your formation (before the match) so that you have a rwb and lwb
which are quite far up the pitch (nearly up to the halfway line).
* now score two goals either with the lwb or the rwb.
* best way to score with the rwb or lwb is to run them with the ball up the
line to the touchline, then to turn and cut inside into the penalty area
running parallel to the touchline and shoot across the keeper into the far
corner of the goal.
* another way, and easier, of doing this challenge is to play normally and
just before you about to score with a striker, say, press start and go into
the team management menu and swap your striker for the rcb. now score the
goal and you have one goal with a defender so swap the same two players back
to their original positions and repeat to get your second goal with a
defender.

10.5. very nice

* keep a possession percentage of 90% or higher.
* maintain a passing percentage of 90% or higher.
difficulty:
* 10 footballs & legendary.

* 5 minutes.

* 10.10. (if challenges 10.1.-10.9. are all done).
reward:
* 1,500 - 2,500 points.
tips:
* this is the hardest of the level 10 challenges. the hard part is keeping
90% possession.
* take the kick-off and try and score with a move straight from kick-off.
* once done try and win the ball back as soon as possible. now keep passing
the ball amongst your defenders to increase your passing and possession
percentages.

10.7. hail mary


objectives:
* complete 25 short passes in the 1st half with:_________.
* score with a late goal after the 85 minute mark.
difficulty:
* 10 footballs & legendary.
half length:
* 5 minutes.
unlocks:
* 10.10. (if challenges 10.1.-10.9. are all done).
reward:
* 1,500 - 2,500 points.
tips:
* the _________ above is a specific player chosen when you have chosen your
team.
* the ____________ above changes if you go back out of the challenge and in

* move your designated player to defence and complete 25 quick short passes
with him.
* in the second half keep kicking the ball out of play to maximise the amount
of injury time you get (5 minutes is the maximum).
* as soon as 85 minutes comes substitute your three most forward players and
put the ball out of play so they come on. now score a goal with one of them.

normally and just before you about to score with a striker, say, press start

now score the goal and you have one goal with a midfielder so swap the same
two players back to their original positions and repeat to get your second
goal with the same midfielder.
* once done concentrate on doing long passes with your designated player.
long passes are based on distance so either x (lob pass) or a pressed down a
(short pass) can be used. best way to do it is between the keeper and a central
midfielder.

10.9. not gonna happen
