Style 2

Thicker and more rugged than standard external and E-style rings,
these rings provide holding and gripping strength. All are made of
C1060-C1090 spring steel with a black phosphate and oil finish.
Rockwell hardness is C47-C52. Tensile strength is 250,000 psi.
Style 1 rings can withstand greater thrust loads than standard external rings.
Style 2 rings, also known as klip rings and poodle rings, have wide
ears that provide a larger surface against the retained part.

Split External Retaining Rings

Install these fasteners, also known as X-washers,
using any standard pliers. Just fit onto the groove
of the pin and clinch tight to provide a 360 closure.
To remove, press on lugs to open.
These rings can replace retaining rings, hairpin
clips, and in some applications, nuts and washers.
Made of zinc-plated C1010 steel. Rockwell hardness is B60. Tensile strength is 52,000 psi.
