Huawei DBS3900 LTE

An Innovative Way for Site Deployment
With the expedition of mobile communications competition and the appearance of new radio technology, the wireless network construction mode has totally changed. To better meet operators for quick, economical, and high-quality network construction, Huawei incorporated the design of separated base unit and RF unit for the base station, and launched the innovative DBS3900 for LTE, a distributed base station solution for outdoor application.

Flexible Installation and Saving CAPEX for Operators

The DBS3900 LTE is compact, light, and easy to transport, and it also supports distributed installation, thus reducing large scale construction engineering and saving the CAPEX. The BBU3900 can be installed on an indoor wall or in a standard cabinet. This reduces unnecessary installation investment. Through CPRI-based optical cable connection to the BBU, the RRU can be mounted to a pole, tower, or concrete wall. Flexible installation location and low space requirements reduce site lease costs. The RRU can be installed close to the antenna system in order to reduce the cost of feeders and power consumption.

base stations. For 1000 sites per year, over 1 million dollars can be saved, and its CO2 emission can be reduced, as well as a huge amount of air-conditioner cost, which in turn indicates a considerable reduction in operators OPEX.

Cost-effectiveness with the BBU shared by 2G/3G

The DBS3900 LTE provides a future-proof solution since the BBU can support legacy 2G/3G network by simply adding a suitable base band board, and connecting with a 2G/3G RRU if operating in a different spectrum. This ensures an outstanding protection for the operators investment. The DBS3900 LTE also supports RAN sharing by which different operators can share the RAN network, thus reducing CAPEX.

conduct tests, and upload information to the EMS. This requires less preparation for data configuration and reduces manual handling during site startup. Therefore, the OPEX can be minimized. It can also automatically maintain the integrity and validity of the neighboring cell list by automatically detecting missing neighboring cells and evaluating the neighboring cell relationships. This increases the handover success rate and reduces the cost of network planning and optimization.

Comprehensive IP Transport
All-IP transport is supported and a wide variety of transmission ports are supported, such as FE/GE electrical ports, FE/GE optical ports, and E1/T1 ports. Multiple QoS mechanisms are adopted to guarantee the transmission QoS, thus providing highest capacity, implementing differentiated services, and meeting QoS requirements of services.

High Efficiency and Low Power Consumption

With Huaweis innovative high efficiency enhanced PA technology, the DBS3900 LTE has a typical power consumption of less than 800W, which is only 50% of other macro

Enhanced SON Functionality

The DBS3900 LTE can automatically obtain connection parameters, download software, configure data,
