Review of the minutes of the last meeting

Chairman asked about minutes of the last meeting, which could not be presented as the
same was not recorded.

Feedback of the Doctors

General consensus of the doctors was found on Baldia hygienic conditions, quality of
education, teachers’ cooperation and schools’ environment. However, the concern
towards provision of proper shades, Mats and Air Ventilation was recorded.

The Chairman instructed to collect details of the schools needing these facilities as also
provide feasibility on construction shades in different material such as steel, cement,
fiber, etc.

Mr. Abu Khalid and Faheem Raza were given the responsibility to furnish the above
details as soon as possible.
Health Issue:

Doctors highlighted issue of anemia and general hygiene in the school children they
observed that due to lack of proper education, school children and their parents are least
bothered about these issues.

It was decided that teachers will be provided proper counseling and guidelines by doctors
for onward communication and follow-up with schools children and their parents.

It was also decided that an NGO working towards dentistry services will be identified for
organizing camps in FLAME schools.

Free Eye Camps:

The meeting also took a view of worsening eye problems in the FLAME schools’
children. To meet this end, it was decided that Care & Kindness, an NGO, will be
coordinated to carry out free eye camps. Before the school vacations in this Direct LRBT
will also be coordinated. Mr. Faheem Raza was directed to do the spade work.

Baldia Schools

FC was asked about overall education standard in the area schools as observed by the
doctors. The coordinator informed that due to improper attendance of the children,
educational standard has suffered which is solely because of economic conditions of the
area. The Chairman observed that due to economic conditions in this area, such problems
will prevail.

Decisions

It was decided that parents / teachers meeting will be conducted to improve attendance of
children, oral hygiene, protection of books, etc.

Suggestions: CM – was taken towards Rewarding Ceremony to be held on quality basis


to improve these conditions.

The Chairman instructed to GM and Manager to furnish details on these proposals.

It was also decided that future visits of doctors will be finalized in consultation with GM
and Manager to avoid any travel inconvenience to the doctors especially in Baldia Area.
Appreciation for Landhi Area

Doctors were highly appreciative of overall education / hygiene and other conditions in
the Landhi area schools.

It was noted that 325 students of the Government Schools have joined FLAME schools
which is a clear sign of quality of standard.

School Tests:

It was decided that school test will be conducted on a quarterly / monthly basis.

Chairman’s expectation from the Doctors and Management

The Chairman suggested that MHUs can help towards developing network with
charitable hospital within FLAME school area. For better treatment of school children, he
was of the view that a doctor can better influence other doctors as such FLAME doctors
use their influence towards this end. He also suggested doctors could help towards
arranging medicines for FLAME MHU through coordination with various
pharmaceutical companies.

The Chairman also asked for suggestion to remove hygiene prevailing in the people of
rural area as doctors can better play their role in this direction.

Appreciation for FLAME

The Chairman observed that FLAME has been working as or in an organized system and
has developed a system. Therefore, organizations could rank itself with a good reputation.
However, need of the project was felt.

Donations

The Chairman asked the management to develop a system for placement of the donation
boxes at different outlets through out the city. He also desired that people should be
approached through press advertisements. For donations in kind such as toys which could
be utilized in FLAME schools.

The Chairman also desired that Textile Mills should be approached for development of
uniforms / waist coats, etc.
