Dear delegates, Its about a year ago that we embarked on a journey, which we knew from the very start, will never end. Your whole hearted support in our previous endeavor has given us the courage to continue our initiative. The advocacy program on hospital infection control continues this year, in its new avatar as STRATEGIES TO COMBAT ANTIMICROBIAL RESISTANCE pursue or perish. The focus this year is on the World Health Organizations theme for World Health Day, 2011. We are at the crossroads. Almost all micro-organisms known to man have started to develop resistance, at a rate much faster than newer drugs are being developed. So much so that, there are only a handful of pharmaceutical companies willing to invest in the development of newer molecules. At this rate, in the very near future, there will

war footing. The first step of the solution is quite simple - judicious use of antibiotics. Infection control by other means is also equally important. This conference is all about these and much more. If you are a practicing Physician, Surgeon, Pediatrician, Gynecologist, Microbiologist, Pharmacologist, Community Health Physician, Hospital Administrator, Nurse or a medical / nursing student, this invite is for you. Come and join us in our efforts on November 4th & 5th, 2011, at MGMCRI. Attend HICCON 2011 to :
Explore current research and emerging technologies at the scientific sessions. Engage with renowned clinical experts at the interactive sessions. Benchmark best practices. Network with colleagues. Discover a culturally vibrant city.
