Should you be elected, what are three specific areas you'd like to change, address, improve or further research, and how specifically would you go about it?
I have been honored to work in Willoughby Municipal Court for the last eight years. During that time. I have contributed to the achievements of the Court. including the transition to a new courthouse and the implementation of a sophisticated computer case management system. Case management improvements made the Court more accessible by providing online access to Court records and adding the ability to make payments online. I fully participated in the recent improvements to the video teleconferencing system that serves participating police departments. I was instrumental in establishing a revised Court cost schedule. which has appreciably improved the Court financial position. Should I be elected. I look forward to improving the quality of these services. Specifically. I will expand video teleconferencing to additional police departments including the Lake County Sheriff's Department. These efforts will clearly increase efficiency. decrease cost. and improve the safety of police officers and the public in general. I will further automate the process of how a case commences and how it concludes. I have already studied the process of electronic filing of Court documents and I intend to implement the process. I will use my personal interest in and experience with technology to further the work of the Court where permitted by law. Should I be elected. I will endeavor to establish a Veterans Court. This specialized Court docket will assist our veterans by providing early intervention and assistance in dealing with issues where the underlying problem may be post-traumatic stress. substance abuse or mental health issues. I will work to obtain program funding at little or no cost to the public. Should I be elected. I will improve public awareness and understanding of the Court system. Specifically. I intend to invite our citizens to periodic meetings to participate in discussions. tour the courthouse and ask questions. I believe this will improve public perception of the judicial process and foster confidence in our judicial system.

Whether for accomplishments or future goals, why should voters elect you?
Voters should elect me Judge because I am the most qualified candidate. I invested over 30 years in the general practice of law. In that practice. I participated in the judicial process that involved my clients. other lawyers. professionals and judges. This experience required expertise in almost all areas of law both civil and criminal. Should I be elected. I can apply this broad experience to the cases that come before me assuring reasoned decisions. I am the most qualified because I have applied these skills in the Willoughby Municipal Court to the tasks required of me as a Magistrate and Acting Judge. In both positions. I am required to hear evidence. apply the law and render decisions. I am willing to stand on my record and be judged by what I have already accomplished. No other candidate can claim that.
