PART – II: Web Based Application

Introduction:
This is the second part of the product “Vidya” school Management system. The
windows based application is related to this web based in the aspect of two types of
users.

1) The school admin &


2) The parents

In the home page of this web application both the user’s admin and the parents will
be given privileges to access the site, by providing the login, user name & password.

The vendor can create as many numbers of admins as per the school management
instructions.

The menus: Home, About Us, Contact Us Site Map.

1.1. Role of school admin in the application: After typing the use name and
password the admin will land in his private page. This page has the following
mentioned options.
These options provide the facility to entertain all the operations of his
school in the internet.

The options are as follows;

1.1.6 View New User name / Password

1.1.1 Create User name / Password: Using this option, the user name and
password for all new students will be created automatically, admin only need
to use this option, no need to create explicitly. If no new user names are
updated in the database than on clicking, the error message “No Changes
Found” will be displayed to the admin in the current page itself.
The created user name and password can be viewed in the tabular form
which is present in the option (3)

1.1.2 Change Current Password: To change his user name and password this
option provides the facility in the page know as “Change User name and
Password”. This page contains four text fields for entering and confirming the
old and new, user name & password respectively.

1.1.3 View All User name / Password: On clicking this option the administrator
can view all the user name and password of all students along with their id
and name. At the end email id of those will be present who have changed
their user name and password. This email id will used to send the new user
name and password to the parent.

1.1.4 Edit Flash News : Using this option the admin can edit the flash news
running in the internet application. On clicking this option the page called ‘Edit
Flash News’ will be displayed with one tabular form.
The admin has to select the specific number from the combo
box, and the text message to be typed in the text box present beside to the
combo box, and on clicking the ‘Change Flash News’ the typed new news will
run in the inter net application.

1.1.5 View All Registered Students: The admin need to select the class and
academic year in the page called “View All Registered Students”. By using this
option the admin can view the details like ‘Name , Gender, Date of Birth,
Father Name, present Address, Present Telephone, Email ID’ of all the
students.
The admin as well as the parents can take the details regarding the
students in any of the specified format. Ex: CSV, Excel, Xml, PDF, RTF.

1.1.6 View New User name / Password: This option is to view exclusively the
list of students who got new admission. Before taking the print out the admin
has generate the use name and password for each and every student with the
help of the option (1). After this he has to come to this option to get the print
out of newly admitted students and can submit to the office.

2. Role of the Parents: The parents will login with help of the user name and
password in the login section. There are two option were present;
1) Results
2) Attendance

2.1 Results: This option provides the facility to view two types of results of their
children. The current and all results.

2.1.1 Current Results: On clicking this option the parents can view the results of
current examination held, along with the graphical representation.

2.1.2 View All Results: The parents will view all the exam results of the entire
examinations commenced in the whole academic year, with graphical
representation.

2.2 Attendance: This option provides the parents to view the
attendance details, either by date wise, or they can view all.

2.2.1 Date wise Attendance: This option allows the parents to check the
attendance, by exact date wise, month wise, or year wise. For this the
parents has to specify the date from the combo box, and after clicking the
submit button the details of attendance will be displayed.

2.2.2 View all: On clicking this option the parents can view the details of attendance
of the whole month from the starting.

2.3 Change Current Password (Option) : This option provides the facility to
change the user name and password to the parents. On clicking the page
‘Change User name and Password’ will be displayed in which the parents has
to their old username and password and can enter the new user name and
password in both the old .

2.4 Forgot Password: This option is for the parents, when the parents forgotten
the password, then on clicking this option the page called ‘Forgot Password’.
In this page two text boxes are present. In the “Enter id” the parent or
student has to type his student id which he received from the school. And the
same email id he has to enter which he typed while changing his user name
and password. which was provided by the school first time.

The present site provides the scholar ship and Admission form; these are just the
example templates. The exact format of these two forms will created by the Surya
Infolab.

To make any changes or updating in any of the options under the menus like
“Gallery, Registration, and School Information” the school authority has to contact
the Surya Infolab.

Future Enhancements:

These enhancements are in favor of school management.

1. They can view all the online admission applications for the ‘LKG’ based on age
of the children.

2. The school management can view short details about the students who have
passed with 85% and above irrespective of their gender.
