ERROR OR CONDITION
Gap at top of home page in browser view.
ERROR OR CONDITION
Columns overlap hyperlinks in some layout views.
The View All button/link and view by customize count selection (for example, View 4 button/link) do not work properly.
The View All/View4 button/link displays and is enabled even when the number of rows in the grid is less than the actual row count set to display. When you select the ViewAll, the View 4 button/link displays and is enabled even when the number of rows in the grid is less than 4. Observed when navigating from the portal homepage to PeopleTools, Web Profile, Web Profile Configuration. Click the Search button and select any value. Click the Virtual Addressing or Cookie Rules tab. Click View All or specify the number you want to view. This issue is observed with all supported browser/OS combinations running on PeopleTools 8.47, 8.48 and 8.49.
When accessing the default view of My Calendar, the initial cursor position is the Go To Date field instead of the Weekly field.
When accessing My Calendar in Safari, the initial cursor position is the Go To Date field. All other browsers default to the Weekly field, as designed. Observed in PeopleTools 8.49 and PeopleTools 8.50.
ERROR OR CONDITION
On the My System Profile page, selecting a value from the Currency Code field causes the browser vertical scroll bar to disappear.
The "-" key in a grid does not receive focus when tabbing.
ERROR OR CONDITION

ERROR OR CONDITION
Browser gets hung in Processing mode.
In PeopleTools 8.48 and 8.49, images and columns overlap buttons when using these OS/Browser combinations. This issue appears in all the supported Safari browsers on all releases of Mac OS. PeopleTools release 8.50 resolves this issue.
Sign on page is missing the Set Trace link, or Set Trace link is displayed as HTML tags.
In PeopleTools 8.47, 8.48 and 8.49, under certain conditions the Set Trace message and link on the sign on page is missing or appears as HTML tags and is inoperative. This occurs when using these OS/Browser combination: OS X 10.5 / Safari 3.0.4 PeopleTools release 8.50 resolves this issue

ERROR OR CONDITION
Links and non-text edit controls are skipped when tabbing through fields.
Find feature.
The find feature does not work consistently when using the Mac OS X 10.3 with Safari 1.2.3 on PeopleTools 8.46. The system does not always highlight the requested search item. PeopleSoft intends to fix this issue in a newer release. The RenServer does not currently work with Apple Safari because the RenServer requires HTTP 1.0 compatibility. PeopleSoft MultiChannel Frameworks Universal Queue Server and Chat functionality is not currently supported. PS/nVisions Windows output option is not currently supported. If you submit a report request with the Windows output type or a report book that includes such report requests, we recommend that you override the output type in the Process Scheduler Request page. PeopleSoft Process Schedulers Run to Window option is not currently supported. Note. If a process is hard coded to submit to Window, using the ProcessRequest PeopleCode class, a message will be sent notifying the user that the option is not supported on Safari. The process will be submitted to Web instead. PeopleSoft Optimizations status bar is not currently supported.
Cache-Control.
This appears to be a Safari browser issue. PeopleSoft testing found that if you use an https connection rather than an http connection, the Apple Safari browser appears to not cache the pages into the back/forward cache. After logging out, you should correctly get the signon page when going back to previous pages.
14
ERROR OR CONDITION
When a page is in a frameset, Apple Safari incorrectly caches the page and produces inconsistent data results.
This is an issue with the default text size. If you set the default text to Times 12, you get the correct spacing. The Copy URL feature does not work with Apple Safari 1.2. In PeopleTools 8.45 the Copy URL button does not display. This feature copies the URL for the current page to the clipboard, making it available for pasting in other applications. When using Apple Safari with Mac OS X, Alt keys generate garbage characters when the cursor is in a text field. The grayed-out appearance of disabled check boxes and edit boxes is very subtle in Safaris Aqua interface. It is difficult to distinguish the disabled check boxes from enabled ones. When using other browsers if the user presses the Home key, the cursor is positioned at the beginning of the field. When the user presses the End key, the cursor goes to the end of the field. When using the Apple Safari browser, the Page Up and Page Down keys perform these functions.
Hot Keys.

ERROR OR CONDITION
Tab Key.
MultiChannel Frameworks CTI Console is not currently supported on Apple Safari. Right aligned edit boxes.
CTI Console relies on LiveConnect for communication between JavaScript and the CTI Applet.
Edit boxes display data as left aligned even though field is set to be right aligned in Application Designer. There is no kiosk mode when using Apple Safari. Note. Kiosk mode is a form where the functions of the browser are limited.
Kiosk mode.
If you change the font size, it might cause some pages to appear incorrectly, for example, grid labels might wrap. Note. This information is specified in the Safari documentation.
2. Click the Advanced tab. 3. Select Highlight links as you press the TAB key. 4. The default setting is Do not highlight links as you press the TAB key. 5. Close the Preferences dialog box.

IDENTIFIED MOZILLA
AND
FIREFOX ISSUES
Mozilla attempts to fix browser issues with each forthcoming release. This section describes the limitations associated with the Mozilla and Firefox browsers when used with PeopleSoft applications.
ERROR OR CONDITION
Bi-directional character display
CopyURL link.
Or, the you can type about:config in the browser's address bar and set the property to true. HTTPS to HTTP. On Windows 2000, when a redirect goes from HTTPS to HTTP you will receive an error due to scheme mismatch. This problem occurs when using Mozilla 1.7 with Mac OS X. This can be resolved by modifying Mozillas browser preferences. See Modifying Mozilla Preferences.
Links and non-text edit controls are skipped when tabbing through fields using Mozilla 1.7.
18
ERROR OR CONDITION
Multiple browsers producing errors.
PeopleSofts Ctrl+J functionality does not work as intended with the Firefox browser.
Firefox uses the Ctrl+J keyboard command to open the Downloads pop-up window. PeopleSofts workaround for this problem is to press Ctrl+J twice. Executing the command a second time causes the Downloads window to close and the system information page to display. This occurs when the Mozilla 1.7.3 browser is used with Mac OS X.
Personalize content and layout links might not display on the homepage with Mozilla 1.7.3. Disabled fields color scheme difficult to read in Firefox 2.0.0.14
Firefox displays disabled fields in a darker gray than other browsers. The darker field color can render the values within the disabled fields difficult to read.
19
ERROR OR CONDITION
Browser gets hung in Processing mode.
Firefox 2.x/3.x is limited to 50 cookies per domain. Sign on page is missing the Set Trace link, or Set Trace link is displayed as HTML tags.
In PeopleTools 8.47, 8.48, 8.49, under certain conditions the Set Trace message and link on the sign on page is missing or appears as HTML tags and is inoperative. This occurs when using these OS/Browser combination: Mac OS X 10.5 / Firefox 2.0.0.11 Mac OS X 10.5.2/Firefox 3.0 Win Vista / Firefox 3.0 Win 2008 / Firefox 3.0 PeopleTools release 8.50 resolves this issue
Page title underline does not extend across the width of the page.
In Firefox, the span tag extends only the length of the text inside the span tag. The underline does not extend the length of the page, as in other browsers. There is no workaround for this issue.
20
ERROR OR CONDITION
Menu label appears in left hand navigation and overwrites tabs in header.
6. Save the HTML definition. 7. Restart the web and application servers. PeopleTools 8.50 resolves this issue. The "-" key in a grid does not show focus when tabbing. Anchor tag with Onclick Event does not receive the focus when pressing tab key. To workaround this issue, click the - key or press the keyboard shortcut for delete row. Hyperlinks underline are invisible. When the cursor is placed on the text, then the hyperlink underline appears. Functionally, the hyperlinks work as designed. This is observed in the following OS/ browser combination: Mac OS X 10.4.11/ Firefox 3.5.1
21
ERROR OR CONDITION
When performing a file upload, the file upload dialog box exhibits unexpected behaviors in the browser
You might observe these irregularities in the appearance: In header, the hyperlink's underlines are not visible. In left navigation (classic) menu, the alignment of hyphen (-) and the menu name text is irregular. In drop-down menu, the down arrow and the menu text are merged. For bi-directional languages such as Arabic or Hebrew, characters such as ampersand (&) or underscore, when used for hotkeys, are rendered as an isolated shape instead of the initial shape. Elements of items in scrollable grids are misaligned.
Firefox runs the scripts differently than other browsers when the scripts are inline or uncached. Configure your web profile to cache JavaScript on the browser: To configure this setting: 1. Select PeopleTools, Web Profile, Web Profile Configuration. 2. Select the correct web profile. 3. Select the Debugging tab. 4. Clear the Show Style Sheet Inline HTML and Show JavaScript Inline check boxes. 5. Save the web profile.
22
ERROR OR CONDITION
For disabled fields, the contextual popup menu is available only by clicking precisely on the red glyph; the menu is unavailable elsewhere in the field. Vertical scroll bars do not appear on some long edit boxes when the amount of information in the field exceeds the visible area. Embedded Help Popup changes position in Arabic language version.
Place the cursor in the field and then scroll the mouse wheel to move the data. You can also use the directional arrow keys to move about inside the long edit field.
Accessing the same embedded Help repeatedly on a page sometimes causes the popup to shift position rather than appear in the default position. Observed in PeopleTools 8.51 in all platforms. There is no workaround at this time.
23
ERROR OR CONDITION
CopyURL Link.
Or, the you can type about:config in the browser's address bar and set the property to true.
24
ERROR OR CONDITION
Session management issues arise when two browser windows are opened using different languages and user names. Multiple browser windows but single session.
In PeopleSoft applications, regardless of the number of browser windows open, Netscape considers these to be a single session. If a user logs out of one window, the session is lost for all windows. This occurs in the PeopleTools 8.45 release on the Mac OS. When using Netscape with Mac OS X, using Alt keys are generating garbage characters when the cursor is in a text field. The text specified in the ALT attribute displays inconsistently or does not display at all in Netscape 4.7x, 4.8, and 7.x depending on the OS. Note. The ALT attribute tells the user what is missing on a page if the browser can't load images by displaying the alternate text instead of the image.
Hot Keys.

ERROR OR CONDITION
Menu label appears in left hand navigation and overwrites tabs in header.
6. Save the HTML definition. 7. Restart the web and application servers. PeopleTools 8.50 resolves this issue.
Netscape 7.x
Many of the issues encountered in the Netscape 6.x release are addressed in Netscape 7.x. However, a few issues remain or new ones have arisen. Known issues include:
ERROR OR CONDITION
Alt keys.
26
ERROR OR CONDITION
Collapse button.
Cursor display.
Disabled Buttons
For both Netscape 7.1 as well as 7.2, when a button is disabled, the text inside the button is not grayed out. In addition the tooltip no longer displays. When using Netscape 7.01 with the Mac OSX, users must manually associate the data with the correct file extension for the Mac OS, which is .xl. On subsequent download attempts the system recognizes the file as an Excel spreadsheet. When using Netscape 7.0 with the Mac OS, the OnKeyDown event handler does not fire, which is an essential part of PeopleSofts runtime processing for detecting a transmission to the application server. Netscape resolves this issue in the 7.1 release. When using Netscape 7.1 with the Mac OS, hot keys do not work because of the KeyDown event. For Netscape 7.0 with Mac OS only-- intermittent, random displays of hover text appear.
FieldChange and FieldEdit PeopleCode not firing when tabbing out of a field.
Hot keys.
Hover text.
27
ERROR OR CONDITION
HTML anchors.
4. Change it to this:
&TgtURL =saveWarning(TargetContent,null_top, | &TgtURL | &FolderCachePath | );;
Multiple tabs are not supported. You should use New Window link in PeopleSoft Internet Architecture to open new window. When using Netscape 7.0 with some low color depth (8 bits) displays, the browser does not have enough colors to show the styles correctly. This can be worked around by adding more contrast to the colors in the stylesheet. For example, make the contrasting colors very different.
Stylesheets.
28
Netscape 6.x
Many of the limitations with the Netscape 4.x browser are addressed in Netscape 6.x. However, a few issues remain. In addition to bug-related browser crashes, we have noted other incidences where PeopleSoft applications function differently than expected when using Netscape 6.0. Known issues include:
ERROR OR CONDITION
Access keys.
Cursor display.
Stylesheets.
29
Netscape 6.2x
Known issues include:
ERROR OR CONDITION
Multiple browser windows but single session.
Back button.
Calendar prompt.
30
ERROR OR CONDITION
Push buttons.
Note. Beginning with the PeopleTools 8.44 releases and higher, Oracle has discontinued support for Netscape Navigator 6.2x. Oracle recommends that you upgrade to Netscape Navigator 7.
Netscape 4.x
You might find that certain PeopleSoft pages do not appear as intended when you view them using a Netscape 4.x browser. These inconsistencies exist because of the way that Netscape processes HTML and as such, are not likely to change in future releases of PeopleSoft applications. However, Netscape 6.x addresses most of these limitations. Important! As of the PeopleTools 8.44 release, Oracle recommends that you do not use the Netscape 4.7x browser with PeopleSoft applications. While we still support this browser for pre-8.44 releases, we recommend that you migrate to a newer version of Netscape for optimal performance. Known issues include:
ERROR OR CONDITION
PeopleSoft Ping page.
31
ERROR OR CONDITION
Menu links in context manager.
Calendar prompt.
Grid preview.
Input fields.
32
ERROR OR CONDITION

Netscape 4.7x
Known issues include:
ERROR OR CONDITION
Width of the Related Contacts pagelet is wider than other pagelets in the PeopleSoft Enterprise Portal. Calendar prompt.
Netscape encounters difficulties displaying the calendar prompt when used with early versions of Linux. Users should use Red Hat Linux 7.2 or later. Not supported. Instead Netscape defaults to the longest value in the list. Sizing for custom-sized edit boxes and long edit boxes might not render exactly as designed.
33
ERROR OR CONDITION

Hot Keys.
35
When creating text push buttons, make sure you size the push button to give enough space to fit the text you intend to appear on the button. Otherwise the button will expand at runtime and might distort other controls on your page. Avoid designing pages with the intention that the user tab through fields in a particular order.
36
ERROR OR CONDITION
Loss of update, display of search page In some situations when users are clicking quickly on a page, while clicking quickly on a PeopleSoft Internet Explorer will close the socket for the previous request page. when the next request comes in, but before the previous request's response is returned to the browser. This can cause the loss of update or the search page to be displayed. Users should avoid clicking too quickly when interacting with pages. HTTPS to HTTP. On Windows 2000, when a redirect goes from HTTPS to HTTP you will receive an error due to scheme mismatch. This works on Windows XP. When the browser is asked to show an animated gif such as the PeopleSoft processing flashing logo on the top right of the screen, and then posts a form, the gif animation is frozen (no motion) while the browser is waiting for the webserver's response. Note. This is only true if the HTML form is not in a frame. Redirect error. The Permission denied error occurs on Windows XP SP2 running IE when a frameset request is submitted. This issue is resolved in the PeopleTools 8.45 and 8.46 releases. A side effect of this workaround is that you must click the Back button twice to view previous pages after a redirect.

<mime-mapping> <extension> csv </extension> <mime-type> text/plain </mimetype> </mime-mapping>.
Key Events.
When using IE with the Mac OS, the system does not generate any key events for CTRL + A, CTRL + D, Ctrl + K, or CTRL + L. When using IE with Mac OS X, using Alt keys are generating garbage characters when the cursor is in a text field. Microsoft IE 5.5 and 6.0 security patch MS01-055 prevents servers with improper name syntax from setting cookies names. Domains that use cookies must use only alphanumeric characters ("-" or ".") in the domain name and the server name. Internet Explorer blocks cookies from a server if the server name contains other characters, such as an underscore character ("_").

Redirect.html
In Internet Explorer 8, the browser by default uses six HTTP connections to the web server and JavaScript is loaded in parallel. Note: Increasing the number of files that Internet Explorer 7 can download in parallel enables the browser to load resources (images) more quickly into the browser cachewith the exception of JavaScript files. JavaScript is still loaded sequentially in Internet Explorer 7.
39
ERROR OR CONDITION
Multiple tabs not supported.
Sign on page is missing the Set Trace link, or Set Trace link appears as HTML tags.
JavaScript hyperlinks are not recognized as visited; the color of the link does not change after being clicked. In the IE8 Developer Tools application, don't change the Browser Mode or Document Mode when viewing PeopleSoft applications.
PeopleSoft applications don't display correctly in IE8, when changing the Browser Mode or Document Mode in the Developer Tools application.
40
ERROR OR CONDITION
The View All button/link and view by customize count selection (for example, View 4 button/link) do not work properly.
In PeopleSoft applications, regardless of the number of browser windows open, IE considers these to be a single session. Hyperlinks not recognized as visited.
If a user logs out of one window, the session is lost for all windows. This occurs in the PeopleTools 8.45 release on the Mac OS.
In IE7 and IE8, JavaScript hyperlinks are not recognized as visited: the color of the link does not change after being clicked only if the target is the same window. The JavaScript hyperlinks are recognized as visited if the target is a new window. In PeopleTools 8.47, 8.48 and 8.49, Processing will blink continuously without resolving or saving when using these OS/Browser combinations. WinXP/IE8 Win2003/IE8 PeopleTools release 8.50 resolves this issue.

ERROR OR CONDITION
When performing a file upload, the file upload dialog box exhibits unexpected behaviors in the browser
When accessing the System You are viewing the page in Compatibility View. To change Information page (Ctrl + J), the these settings: browser version appears incorrectly as 1. In the browser menu, select Tools, Compatibility Settings. IE/7.0 2. Ensure that the page or the domain is not listed in the Compatibility View. 3. Uncheck the Display intranet sites in Compatibility View check box. 4. Uncheck the Display all websites in Compatibility View check box. 5. Clear the browser cache. Keyboard Shortcut page does not appear when pressing the Ctrl + K keys; a new tab that duplicates the current page appears instead. CTRL + K is a keyboard shortcut within the browser and therefore does not perform the keyboard short cut for PeopleSoft applications. There is no workaround.
ERROR OR CONDITION
Multiple tabs not supported.
42
ERROR OR CONDITION
REN Server run to Window not working.
Pressing CTRL + J opens side bar over the Component Information page.
Although pressing CTRL + J opens the Component Information page, in IE it also opens the Favorites Center side bar, which hovers over the Component Information page. To workaround this problem, close the Favorites Center side bar.
Cookies are limited to 20 or 50 by the browser, depending on which security update you have. Sign on page is missing the Set Trace link, or Set Trace link is displayed as HTML tags.
In PeopleTools 8.47, 8.48, 8.49, under certain conditions the Set Trace message and link on the Sign In page is missing, or appears as HTML tags and is inoperative. This occurs when using these OS/Browser combination: Win 2008 / IE 7 PeopleTools release 8.50 resolves this issue
43
ERROR OR CONDITION
Hyperlinks not recognized as visited.
Space appears between the lines of links that span more than one line.
When a hyperlink extends to 2 lines, there is a space between the 1st line and 2nd line. When the hyperlink extends to 3 lines, there is no space between the 1st line and 2nd line but there is a space between 2nd line and 3rd line. There is no workaround for this issue.
There is a 2 pixel grey outline to the left for any drop-down list box.
Every drop-down list box with no style associated with it appears with a 2 pixel grey outline to the left of the control. There is no workaround for this issue
Messages have inconsistent line spacing between the last two lines.
When messages extend across multiple lines, the spacing between the last two lines is larger than the spacing between the other lines in the message. The workaround is to change the "PSTEXT" style in your stylesheet. Open the default style sheet. Find the PSTEXT style and change the Display property to Block. Also, this issue is not present in IE 8. Upgrade your browser to avoid the issue.
When multiple browser windows are open and accessing a PeopleSoft application, signing off the system in one browser window does not end the session in all windows.
IE7 treats all open windows as one session, not multiple sessions. To completely sign out of the PeopleSoft application, you must sign off or close all browser windows that access any PeopleSoft application.

ERROR OR CONDITION
Viewing attachments and downloading to Attachments are inaccessible and documents cannot be Excel. downloaded to Excel when using Windows XP and IE 6.x. This is the result of a new security setting in the IE 6.x browser. There are two possible workarounds for this issue. See Viewing Attachments and Downloading Files. Crystal reports. Large HTML files (over 4 MB) might display incorrectly in both IE 6 and 5.5. To overcome this limitation, use the Separated Pages option when running reports to this format in PeopleSoft Internet Architecture. You can set this option by adding the switch -SP1 to the command line arguments of the report's process definition. Occasionally the PIA menu might disappear when a user opens a PIA page. This is a Microsoft issue and might be addressed in a future IE release. In the interim, two work around options exist: Refresh the page using the browsers refresh button. Turn off compression (compressResponse=false). Note. This issue only applies to browsers with the Q810847 Update Version applied. Determine which Update Versions you have in the About Internet Explorer dialog box. Select Help, About Internet Explorer from the browser menu. In addition, Microsoft recommends a fix for this issue on their website. Follow this link for details: http://www.microsoft.com/technet/treeview/default.asp? url=/technet/security/bulletin/revsbwp.asp HTML anchors. Pages with a button pointing to an HTML anchor. ERROR OR CONDITION
Target page user interface appears incorrectly when single signon between Oracle and PeopleSoft is configured.
In PeopleSoft applications, regardless of the number of browser windows open, IE considers these to be a single session. If a user logs out of one window, the session is lost for all windows. This occurs in the PeopleTools 8.45 release on the Mac OS. There is no workaround for this issue.

Cursor focus.
Does not return to the expected place after editing and tabbing out of a field that yields a server transmission. This issue impacts PeopleTools releases 8.41 and 8.1x on the Mac OS only. It has been resolved in the PeopleTools 8.42 release.
52
ERROR OR CONDITION
Display only, unbroken, long text in edit boxes.
When using IE 5.2.2 or 5.2.1 with Mac OS X or IE 5.1.6 with Mac OS9, users must manually associate the data with the correct file extension for Mac OS, .xl. On subsequent download attempts the system recognizes the file as an Excel spreadsheet. See Downloading Grid Contents to Excel.
With the PeopleTools 8.43 release, if a user clicks on the label of a drop-down list box, the system automatically selects the first item in the list without a transmission to the application server. A workaround for this issue is to select the correct value from the drop-down list box.
Links.
In IE 5.5, links that were previously visited retain the visited pseudo-styleclass until users clear their Temporary Internet files. In the PeopleTools 8.4 release we resolved this issue by directing default style classes for PSHYPERLINK and PSNAVPARENTLINK to visit themselves.
53
ERROR OR CONDITION
IE does not allow you to close certain error messages.
Overlapping fields.
IE 5, when used with Mac OS in conjunction with the PeopleTools 8.44 release, might cause some fields to appear overlapped. This can be remedied by spacing the fields slightly more apart in PeopleSoft Application Designer. IE 5.1 and 5.2, when used with Mac OSX, do not support REN Server usage. IE 5 might generate this security error message for a page: This page contains both secure and nonsecure items. The workaround is to increase the connection time on the server, by increasing the timeout setting (KeepAlive) time to 60 seconds or greater. If you are connecting through Proxy, modify the HTTP Persistent Connection Timeout setting on the Proxy server to 60 seconds. If you are connecting straight to Weblogic, make sure Weblogic's https KeepAlive is set to 60 seconds or greater. Weblogic's default https KeepAlive setting is 120.
REN Server.
Not supported. PeopleSoft recommends using Netscape with Mac OS when using languages requiring extended character codes. In PeopleTools 8.45, the Copy URL button does not display. This feature copies the URL for the current page to the clipboard, making it available for pasting in other applications. This issue has been resolved in IE 6. Edit boxes display data as left aligned even though the field is set to be right aligned in Application Designer.
