employees at its Fort Erie plant. DMI makes wind-turbine towers. A company spokeswoman told the Niagara Falls Review that the layoffs were the result of "uncertainty" about political support for wind-generated power. "It's not intended to be permanent," said the spokeswoman, Belinda Forknell. "Of course, we don't really know when things will turn around. We don't know how temporary it could or could not be. I think after Oct. 6, we'll know a lot."
