Image size and format requirements

When sending contents to FuturLink, each type of content needs a specific file format to be used and to be adapted to different mobile devices by FuturLink. For images, the supported file formats are listed below for each type of content: Static Images EPS High Quality BMP High Quality GIF High Quality JPG High Quality The Static Images are typically used for Screensavers and Wallpapers, and are pushed to mobile phones using the GIF format in most of the cases. Animated Images Animated GIF + PSD project File The Animated Images are only supported in mobile phones using the GIF format. The PSD (Photoshop Format) file, will be used at FuturLink to adjust the number of frames and other settings. When sending a set of images to FuturLink, each one must have the proper name and size specified in the File name. The proper format of the each of the filenames is: [Name-of-the-campaign]_[width]x[height].gif A good way to send the Image set to FuturLink is inside a zip file.

Taking the above rules, FuturLink defines the following set of Images, as the optimal set to maximize user experience: Image Name and Sizes Image_80x66.gif Image_96x65.gif Image_96x90.gif Image_101x80.gif Image_112x112.gif Image_116x148.gif Image_120x160.gif Image_128x105.gif Image_128x128.gif Image_128x160.gif Image_132x176.gif Image_160x120.gif Image_176x144.gif Image_176x208.gif Image_176x220.gif Image_240x196.gif Image_240x320.gif Image_320x240.gif Image_320x320.gif Image_352x416.gif Image_480x640.gif This 21 Image set will be used to maximize the user experiences received by the end user, since it enables adapting the image to the right mobile screen size. The first number represents the width of the Image, and the second number shows the height. Both numbers are expressed in pixels. If you only want to send a small number of sizes we recommend you the following ones, but remember that, providing all the Image set, you will not have a Campaign with the maximum quality: Image_128x128.gif Image_176x144.gif This will ensure that, more or less, the 75% of the mobile phones will receive a nice experience. The Image prefix can be changed to whatever name is desired, for example: FuturLinkPromo_80x66.gif FuturLinkPromo_96x65.gif

Format requirements for other contents when sending them to FuturLink for creating Campaigns
Application backgrounds, graphics, logos and icons based on a screen size of 352 x 416 pixels EPS High Quality BMP High Quality GIF High Quality JPG High Quality Extra content should be supplied to help FuturLink designers the optimal content adaptation to each type of device. Video files AVI video (Preferred file format) with a standard encoding. MPEG video The preferred video screen size is VGA or half VGA (640x480 or 320x240 pixels). The average duration of a good video file is around 20 seconds; this setting maximizes the user experience. Video encoding for Mobile Devices is very optimized for size and quality, but long videos use to take a lot of space (above 500Kb), for this reason, FuturLink does not recommend exceeding the barrier of the 30 seconds as a maximum. Once converted, these will result in 3GP video file format. FuturLink recommends using at less two sizes of videos in a campaign, 128x128 pixels and 176x144 pixels to be able to have a good user experience in a big number of mobile devices. Audio Files MP3 WAV MID The duration of the Audio Clip should be around 20 seconds for music and 30 seconds for voice.
