The Basics:
Any major may apply, but politics , technology, and communications degree students are preferred. The applicant may be based anywhere in the United States.

Yo u r E x p e r i e n c e :
Experience with varied social media platforms is required, if you dont know what reddit is , dont apply. Knowledge of internet histor y, i .e . memes is beneficial . It is preferred, but not required that you have had a twitter account and can prove that you update it regularly. If you know your klout score , kudos ! Knowledge of HTML, Adobe CS, and graphic design programs is highly desired.

The Internship:
This position doubles as a communications post and you will work with others to craft the appropriate message . However, youll be granted a great deal of autonomy and must be able to react to events and craft attractive lead-ins to news as well as in-house material. The Basics:
Any major may apply, but public policy, politics , education , and economics degree students are preferred. Applicant must be based in the D.C. metro-area.

Yo u r E x p e r i e n c e :
Knowledge of a variety of disciplines is required, but a specialization in economics , sociology, and public policy is desirable . Experience with a think-tank or other organization where you have been involved in the evaluation of policy options is highly desirable. Experience writing policy proposals and executive summaries is desirable.

The Internship:
Yo u w i l l b e e x p e c t e d t o a t t e n d v a r i o u s h e a r i n g s , c o m m i t t e e s , a n d e v e n t s a r o u n d D.C. to promote the campaign and report back with a perspective on how the issue discussed and our own focus is connected. Yo u w i l l b e e x p e c t e d t o d r a f t l e g i s l a t i v e s u m m a r i e s o f p a r t i c u l a r b i l l s a n d a s s e s s , evaluate, and summarize their particular effects on the goals of the campaign. Yo u w i l l s o m e t i m e s a l s o b e e x p e c t e d t o p u t t o g e t h e r f a c t s h e e t s for our organizers out in the field.

Experience with an established student, semi-professional, or professional publication is desirable. A body of written work accessible online is best. Experience as an editor of publication or in publishing is preferred. Experience writing speeches, op-eds, or other political pieces is highly desirable.

The Internship:
This position doubles as a communications post and you will work with others to craft the appropriate message . However, you w ill have the responsibility for delivering the final documents for public consumption online or in person. Yo u l l b e e x p e c t e d t o w r i t e , i n c o n c e r t o r w i t h o t h e r s , a t l e a s t a w e e k l y b l o g a n d t o r e c r u i t o t h e r w r i t e r s . Yo u w i l l r e c o m m e n d a r t i c l e s t o o u r f r i e n d s o n l i n e , a n d create letters of endorsement or disapproval for legislative action items. Members of Congress should fear or be moved by your words on them in the public sphere.
