Objective and Scope

The main objective of this is to enhance productive job-seeking skills and self-confidence for the unemployed. Short-term goals include fortifying job seekers ability to resist demoralization and to persist in the face of barriers and setbacks. The long term goal is to help persons seek employment in settings that maximize economic, social, and psychological rewards. The program contributes to the development of several social and emotional competencies, including: self-awareness, accurate self-assessment, and selfconfidence; adaptability, self-control, and conscientiousness; empathy and organizational awareness and influence, communication, and building bonds. Scope of employment is the legal consideration of the various activities which may occur in the performance of a person's job, especially those acts which are reasonable relative to the job description and foreseeable by the employer. Employees in all facilities affiliated with the Company including, but not limited to, hospitals, ambulatory surgery centers, home health agencies, physician practices and all Corporate Departments, Divisions, and Groups. Key examples of this consideration under US law can include tort liability of the employer due to a duty to supervise or control the employee. If a security guard harms a customer in a retail store, a court may consider if the employee's harmful acts were foreseeable by the employer to the point that the employer should have instituted reasonable precautions to prevent the resulting harm. Extreme examples would likely find the employer is liable for the employee using a gun which was permitted on the job, but perhaps not if strict instructions against carrying guns on the job had been given to the employee who ignored them.

Process Description
Community workers are often described by their employment description, for example: community development officers welfare officers disability support workers community resource workers Case workers.

Organisations often employ a range of staff to provide the services that are offered. Some organisations use generic terms, whereas others will use their own terms, titles or descriptions. The descriptions and titles can also be influenced by the nature of the organisation. For example, one organisation might call a worker a counsellor, whereas another might use support worker or advocate even though the workers may do the same work, or even be funded under the same or similar program. Community legal centres often employ non-legal staff to assist clients with information, advice, counselling and advocacy services. These positions include community development workers, financial counsellors, caseworkers etc.

Range of employment conditions:

Like the range of position descriptions that exist, community workers are employed in a range of ways, including: Under an employment contract: at the simplest level, community workers are employed under a contract with their employer which sets out the terms and conditions of their employment. Under awards: the most common awards are: Social and Community Services Award (SACS Award). Under agreements: the most common agreements are: Enterprise Bargain Agreements (EBAs) and Certified Agreements (CAs) filed with the Queensland Industrial Relations Commission. Records of Employment are not issued automatically. They must be requested from Payroll by the department or employee.
