Prison Chapters, What They Are and What They Do.

Our Jaycee members who are in prison are people. The simplicity of that statement is difficult to accept but qUIte true. Many free world Jaycees have already learned how true It is, often to their amazement. Meetings are called to order, agendas approved, and parliamentary procedure followed. Offices and debate, of course, given, new projects accepted or rejected, after project reports are and the meeting is adjourned with the creed. The description of a prison chapter program is unique, and probably successful for Our is the same as a free world chapter. one reason-Jaycees in prison are members of Total Jaycee Concept chapters. Theytoare not the needs to runningIndIvidual program. The ability meet restricted of each a .partial member is available to prison and free world chapters in the same basic format. Prison chapters fInd great inspiration in the fact that, through Jaycees, they are real people, free to grow and learn, share and care. Equal treatment like prison, that is important. In a dehumanizingIS atmospherethe main reason our probably Jaycee prison chapters have flOUrIshedsince inception while other programs have come and gone. Freedom to grow may seem natural to you now. One visit to a prison chapter will probabl,Y,give you an entirely new appreciation for the word "freedom. '
