We are a leading provider of multimedia advertising services, operating in the classified advertising market through printed, on-line and phone-based media in the United Kingdom, United States and Spain. Group revenue for the year ended 31 March 2010 was 2,123 million. Our core business is to support Yell and its aim to be the best business information bridge between buyers and sellers, regardless of channel, time or location. We do this by designing digital content for multi-media advertising, in print and online space, and by delivering associated services like application support, software development and QA testing, to name a few. These services are provided by Yell Adworks from operations in the UK, USA, Spain, India, the Philippines and Peru. India Software Development & Delivery Team


The SDD team in India supports the Yellow Book s IT team and functions out of the Bangalore Studio as a virtual extension to the Yellow Book IT team in the US. The team builds in-house competency in development, support and maintenance of software applications used by various studios across Yell Adworks and even supports some of the IT initiatives at the Yellow Book side. SDD includes both members of Development and QA/Testing Team, which has been is operating out of the Bangalore Studios, since the last 3 years. The team is now close to 150 people strong and is not only working towards achieving business goals but is also focused in creating a career path for its employees.

India Software Development & Delivery Team


Software Development: The Software development team is working on various applications thereby creating new dimensions to business. Initially Adworks started their venture with few team members for an in-house application development and then YellowBook outsourced couple of application development projects. Today this team has blossomed and is working on multiple projects. Technologies used include: Spring Hibernate Visual Studio SVN SQL Server Eclipse Tomcat Maven Informatica (ETL) JBOSS JBPM Junit Java J2EE Google Web Toolkit Adobe Microsoft .NET Cognos Siebel CRM etc.

India Software Development & Delivery Team


Quality Assurance: QA team is working to delivery Quality for most high profile applications used in today s business. This team is currently providing testing services like writing test cases, executing Functional testing, Regression testing, Smoke testing, testing using web service layer, Database testing etc. with automation services in Load testing. The team has also competency in Automation testing using selenium and QTP. Few prominent tools used are: HP Quality Center TRAC JIRA Alfresco Selenium J Meter etc.

Talent Development & Engagement

Competency Mapping is done for all the employees at regular intervals to measure their current competencies and identify the gaps/ areas of improvement and provide the necessary trainings to employees for improving their competencies .

Training - We identify the training needs of our employees and conduct/ organize different trainings and ensure that all employees have necessary skills to meet the customer and business requirement with effectiveness and efficiency.
