Proverbs Just for Kids

Always do what is right, just, and fair.


- Prov. 1:2b

Listen to what your father tells you to do, and the lessons your mother will teach you. - Proverbs 1:8

If you accept Gods Word and follow the treasures within its pages, you will have a greater knowledge of Gods wisdom. - Proverbs 2:1-5

God wants to give you good judgment that will protect you in the choices you make. - Proverbs 2:9-11

Love others and be faithful to God; do not trust in your own understanding, but ask God for help. - Proverbs 3:1-8

Give a portion of your allowance and gifts of money for Gods work. You will be blessed!
- Proverbs 3:9-10

Do not worry about disasters such as hurricanes, tornadoes, and fires; You can hope and trust in God!
- Proverbs 3:25-26

Give to those in need if you have something to share with them.

- Proverbs 3:27-28

Listen to your parents when they tell you about what pleases God. Be wise and accept this truth. Never let it go or forsake it!

- Proverbs 4

Be faithful to your own spouse when you marry. You will have a blessed home.
- Proverbs 5

Never agree to be responsible for your friends bill.


- Proverbs 6:1-5

Six things God hates: 1. lying 2. murder 3. plans made to harm someone 4. feet that go to do evil 5. lying about someone else 5. a gossip - Proverbs 6:16-19

When you are old enough to date, choose someone who loves God and does not act in a manner that is ungodly. A faithful date, will be a faithful wife someday. Proverbs 7

Always speak what is TRUE! Proverbs 8:7

Love God and seek Him early every morning before you begin your day.
- Proverbs 8:17

DO NOT hang around with friends who mock others. They may influence you to think wrong thoughts. Leave them alone, and refrain from arguing with them! - Proverbs 9:7

God will provide for all your needs. He will not let you go hungry. A wise person will work so they can buy some food.
Proverbs 10:3-5

When you really care for someone, you will not want to tell all their faults to others.
- Proverbs 10:12

God gives peace and joy to those who do what is right. Those who do wrong and do not repent, will have a sad ending. - Proverbs 10:27-32

Learn to keep a secret when necessary. No one likes a tattle tale. This does not include telling an adult things that could harm someone. - Proverbs 11:13

Listen to GOOD counsel from your parents, teachers, and pastors; you do not know everything. - Proverbs 12:15

God is not happy when we lie; always speak the truth even if you get into trouble for it. - Proverbs 12: 22

When you share all your thoughts, you will probably say some things that would be better left unsaid.

Proverbs 13:3

Choose friends with the same values that you have. Be careful of those who will influence you to do wrong.

Proverbs 13:20

Dont hate your parents when they discipline you. This is only because they love you, and what God expects of them.

- Proverbs 13:24

Stop and pray before you act or speak when someone makes you angry. You do not want to act foolish in return. - Proverbs 14:17

A kind answer stops a fight, but unkind words cause more anger.
- Proverbs 15:1-2

God is watching us at all times. There is nothing that is hidden from His eyes. - Proverbs 15:3

God will help us to choose good words and be a witness for Him wherever we are - at all times.

- Proverbs 16

Give God the glory in all that you succeed in; He is worthy of your praise. - Proverbs 16:18-19

When someone treats you unkind, do something nice for them. This will stop wrong behavior.

- Proverbs 17: 14

When you do a job, do it right the first time. That way you will not need to repeat it.

- Proverbs 18: 9

God is our STRONG tower. We have nothing in which to be afraid. - Proverbs 18:10

If you want to have a friend, then be a friend.


- Proverbs 18:24

Keep Gods commandments and God will keep you.

Be kind to your parents and treat them with respect every day. -Proverbs 19:26

Stay away from alcohol. It will cause you to do things that can harm others. Dont drink and drive. Dont drink at all!

- Proverbs 20:1

God looks on the motives of our heart (why we do and say what we do). Is He pleased with your motives? - Proverbs 21:2

What people think of your character is more important than how popular you are.
- Proverbs 22:1-4

Be willing to help those who have less than you do. God loves the poor just as much as he loves you.
- Proverbs 22:22-24

Dont give others advice unless they ask for it ; and then be careful what you say.

- Proverbs 23:9

Give your heart to Jesus Christ; read your Bible and pray, and God will help you to grow more like Him.

- Proverbs 23:26

Dont tell something on someone to get them in trouble just because you are mad at them.

- Proverbs 24:28-29

Gossip is unkind and hurts others.


Proverbs 25:11-20

Dont be two-faced acting kind to someone's face and talking about them behind their back.

- Proverbs 26:24-28

Dont be a bragger. Nobody likes them. Let someone else praise you instead. Proverbs 27:1-2

Open your ears to hear God as you read His Word and pray. Be listening as He speaks to your heart and mind.

- Proverb 28:9

If you are feeling angry, talk to God about it. He cares and will give you peace. This is save you from saying something you may regret.
Proverbs 29:10-11

Be like the ant work hard, do your best, work well with others, do you homework, and help your parents at home.

- Proverbs 30:24-28

These Proverbs can be used as individual lessons or devotions for kids and youth. May God bless you as you work with these young people whom God loves.
