How To Link a Concordance Database with TIFF Images

Concordance is a full text litigation document management tool. In order to view scanned TIFF images side by side with the document text, a companion image viewer is required. This document will walk you through how to set up Concordance Image to work with Concordance. Once youve completed this process, users will be able to automatically open document images by clicking the camera button in Concordance.

Step 2: Scanning the images into the DIR

After creating the DIR, Concordance Image will take you directly into it. Navigate to the tab labeled Register Scan.

1. Click the Browse button and navigate to the

location of the images you want to load.

2. Select the Scan Subdirectories option if needed.

Step 1: Creation of the DIR file

1. Open Concordance Image. 2. Go to Tools >Imagebase Management. This
will open a Microsoft Windows Explorer box.

3. Navigate to where you want to create

the DIR. Once there, enter the name you want to give the database into the file name section. (See below)

3. Click the Scan button to load the images into the DIR. 4. Once the images are scanned into the DIR file, confirm that they show up correctly by moving to the Edit tab in Imagebase Management. Your images will be listed under File, but there should be nothing under Alias. 4. Press the Open button. You will be prompted to create the new file. Select Yes.

Step 3: Creating the Alias

1. Click OK on the Imagebase Management
window to close it.

Step 4: Creating the Load file

1. Click OK on the Imagebase Management
window.

2. Open Concordance. 3. Go to File >Begin program and navigate to

the CPL, Create alias from filename.CPL. (Launching this CPL will only affect the DIR selected; it is not an issue if a database is open in Concordance when this is done)

2. In Concordance Image, click on

Tools >Export Imagebase to log file. The Export Imagebase window will open.

4. An Open.DIR file window will open.

Navigate to the DIR you created, select it, and click Open.

5. Concordance will return you to the active

window of Concordance.

6. Go back to Concordance Image. Under

Tools >Imagebase Management your Edit tab will now show the Alias field populated. 3. Under Imagebase, click Browse and browse out to your DIR file. 4. By default it will populate the Log file section to place your Log file in the same folder as your DIR. You can alter the Log file location as desired. 5. Click the Export button and your Imagebase will be turned into a load file. When it is complete, click Done. 6. In Windows, navigate to the location where you saved the Log file. You will need to select the Log file, right-click on it, and select Rename. 7. Change the Log file extension to .CSV and click enter.

Step 5: Creating the Database

1. In Concordance, go to File>New and select the blank template. 2. Create one field that will contain your Alias information as shown below. (You can name the field anything you like.)
