INDUSTRIAL TRAINING PROGRAMME 1. Degree programme: Bachelor of Accounting (Hons) 2. Year: Epsilon 3.

Trimester: One, Two and Three 4. Credit Hours: 6 hours 5. Duration: 6 months June to November and/or November to Apr and/or March to August 6. Synopsis: Eligibility The students should have completed at least 100 credit hours before the commencement of practical training. He/She should come back to MMU to complete advanced subjects after the training. Duration The practical training is for a period of continuous six months commencing from first Trimester of 4th year in an audit firm recognized by Malaysian Institute of Accountants. List of Audit firms The list of audit firms can be obtained from Member Handbook of MIA or by a local enquiry in any of the MIA branches. Supervision Every student shall be attached to an accounting lecturer as of MMU (as per list below) who shall supervise and monitor his/her performance. The consultation will be in the form of email or telephone. In rare or extreme cases of disciplinary problems, the supervisor may be allowed to visit employers with the approval of the Dean. Normally the supervisor is expected to monitor the performance of the student through telecommunication. 7. Objective: The purpose of choosing audit firm for practical training is to ensure that students are trained only in accounting, auditing, taxation and accounting information system. This arrangement is made to avoid employing our students for non-accounting areas like marketing or production.

8. Learning Outcomes: To expose students with considerable knowledge and experience in real audit and accounting-related working environment As per requirement in completing Bachelor of Accounting in MMU

9. Procedures: Report of Practical Training The student shall prepare the report of practical training and submit to the supervisor with 2 weeks of the completion of practical training so as to enable the supervisor to mark the same and present the grade in the Board of Examination (BOE) meeting of the trimester. 10. Assessment: Training Log book The students are required to maintain a training log book indicating the nature of training and other related details of the work. This is an official record of training. Evaluation by Employer At the end of training the employer shall evaluate the performance of the student and send the prescribed format to the supervisor of the student in a sealed envelope.

11. Rules for the student: To submit report within 2 weeks after completing the training To fill up TWO copies of STUDENT REGISTRATION FORM (available in FOM website),to be submitted to the supervisor and the coordinator, respectively. Student also needs to make a copy of the signed forms.
