THE LEARNING EXCHANGE

Message from the President

Welcome back! Let`s get this season off to a super start! Great things are coming our way! As we begin a new season of learning, it is time to think about how we can help our organization to further improve itself. Another of the many ways we can volunteer within our organization, is to join the Board of Directors. Picture YOURSELF as one of our next board members. Please give this idea careful consideration, TLE needs its Board of Directors to be as vibrant, in its functioning, as the rest of its community! Thank you for your past support, and I look forward to your continued support in the next election in October. Mona

Its great to be back for another year, even after such a great summer holiday! We have completed a new three year strategic plan and action plan with many wonderful ideas and initiatives wed like to accomplish over the next few years. In addition, there are many successful ongoing activities we would like to continue, including our efforts in family literacy within our community. In order to do this, we need volunteers and funds to pay for our activities and materials. If you, or someone you know would like to help, please contact TLE!

Financial Literacy Week Website Coming Soon

ABC Life Literacy Canada

ABC Life Literacy Canada will soon unveil a new Financial Literacy Week website complete with math and money management tools and an interactive tips page where Canadians can share their winning formulas for handling personal finance matters. The interactive website brings Canadians into the financial literacy discussion encouraging them to share their insights, review video posts from Gail Vaz-Oxlade and others as well as watch our online photo gallery grow as Canadians take their promise to see how one small change can add up. An important part of the site will be the I promise page where Canadians select the small steps they will take to help improve their knowledge and comfort with math and finances helping them meet their financial goals. As Canadians submit their promises, an email will be sent with specific tip sheets and tools to help accomplish the desired goal.
