Dear Parents, We are so thrilled to be kicking off what looks to be another great year for childrens ministries.

Everyone is excited to see how God will work this year. We want to thank you for allowing us to partner with you in raising your children in the Lord. We hope that you consider us to be a great asset to you as you seek to diligently teach your children the truths about our heavenly Father. There are many ways to stay informed with Childrens Events. We will be sending out much information so that you can take advantage of the many ministry opportunities this year. Kidz Klub

In Little Kidz Klub this year we are learning three BIG concepts God Made Me God Loves Me Jesus Wants to Be My Friend Forever We learn these through a variety of Bible stories, songs, and activities that encourage our little ones to look to God for everything - He is big enough and strong enough to take care of it all!! This is a strong foundation for their years to come when they build on these initial key ideas. This fall, we will be look-

ing at God's hand in the lives of David and how special each one of us is to God. Watch every Sunday or Monday for a recap of our lesson so that you, as parents, know how to pray for your little one and some things to talk to them about that will reinforce their lessons each week. Our team again is headed up by Becky Bilby and Anita Cirulis. Additional workers are Sherry Lang, Kari Ringelberg, Chris Henryson, Kelsey Gibbons, and Kolbie DeJong.

We are trying something new for snack sign up this year. We are having families sign up for snack via a web link. Follow this link http://www.volunteerspot.com/login/entry/502345634702210088. You can register, pick a day or days that you would like to bring snack. The service will then automatically send you reminders as the day approaches. We are not picky on snacks they can be homemade or store-bought. We LOVE healthy whenever possible just so to keep down the energy level with 80 to 100 little ones.

Kidz Klub
We are looking forward to a great year in Kidz Klub. We will be studying the book of Proverbs this year. The book of Proverbs gives us an ominous warning. The advice is to pursue wisdom. The warning is to avoid folly, because foolishness leads to destruction. However, wisdom must be pursuedit takes effort, discipline, a teachable heart, and instruction. We will be using the book of Proverbs and other Bible passages to contrast the way of the foolish with the way of the wise.

We will be exploring the meaning of the fear of the Lord, treasuring wisdom and how the only way to enter the way of the wise is through Jesus Christ. This year we will be relying heavily upon parents to help establish these truths in your childs heart. We encourage weekly scripture memory, reading of the book of Proverbs, and later in the year we will be encouraging the children to select a proverb and then put it into practice 8 times. As the children accomplish these goals,

we will track them on individual way of wisdom sheets that will be maintained in the childrens wing. We will also be encouraging children to read through and discuss

The Lion The Witch and the Wardrobe by C.S. Lewis. This
book displays the path of wisdom and the path of folly. Later in the year we will have a special movie night and invite parents and children to come and view the movie.

Hiding Gods Word in our Hearts

Jesus tells us in Matthew 4:4 that we are not to live by bread alone but by every Word that proceeds from the mouth of God. During our snack time we will be encouraging the kids to not only eat bread/snacks but to also eat the bread of God/scripture memory. We encourage you to review our weekly memory verses with your children. The goal of Scripture memory is the long term internalization of the Word. We will be encouraging the children to not only memorize the verses from week to week but to keep reviewing verses from the past. We will have an opportunity for the kids to share their verses each week. We will track the number of verses that are said and also give bonus points for older verses that are still memorized. Our goal is that by the end of the year the children will have a foundation of verses that they will carry with them throughout their lives. Stay tuned for updates on our Haiti Christmas Project. We will be meeting November 20 to pack the gifts and send them out to Haiti. More details coming soon.

We invite family members to join us as the Kidz Klub & Little Kidz Klub will be meeting at Pumpkin Land to take in the Corn Maze. Our plan is to enjoy the events at Pumpkin Land and then have a hot dog and smores roast around the camp fire provided at Pumpkin Land. When: Friday, September 23 Time: 5:30 8:00 PM Where: Pumpkin Land Corn Maze Cost: Admission $5.00 for large corn maze (pay at Pumpkin Land) Food Donation: $2.00 per person or $5.00 per family to be paid at the campfire Come find your way out of the maze and then join us at the campfire. We will have a sign up over the coming weeks just to get an idea on the amount of food.

Karen Woudstra, Lindsay Aalbers and Kelana Groendyke are currently working diligently to prepare the kids for the program. Please be in prayer for them and their team as they continue to make preparations. Each family should receive a practice CD of the program. If you have not received one, please connect with any of the childrens ministers and we will help you get one.

We invite you to pray with us for: God to move in the hearts of the children that they will not only understand the truths that are taught but that they will come to trust and rely on them that they will know the God of scripture and will find Him to be their only hope and joy for those ministering to the children for the Spirit to move and work in their lives For God to draw the leaders into a close relationship with Him and show His love to the children of New Hope
