Character Education

Responsibility, Loyalty, Trust, Caring, Courage, Friendliness, Honesty, Fairness and Confidence.
The School Success Plan for Cameron Heights has been developed to include Character in all
school activities.
A Learning Community
Students and staff are committed to learning and achievement. The Success Council meets
regularly to co-ordinate professional learning activities for staff that reflect and respond to the
needs of the students.
International Studies
This is a secondary school program in which all Cameron Heights students can earn credits
towards an International Studies Certificate by completing a series of courses with an
international focus. This program helps to support Cameron Heights as a school where
everyone belongs.
Literacy Initiatives
To support students in preparation for the Ontario Secondary School Literacy Test (OSSLT) and
beyond, a number of staff supported initiatives are in place such as ongoing professional
development, identification of at-risk students, extended tutoring, specialized preparation,
literacy labs, the use of support staff, application hardware and software, and literacy test
preparation lessons.
