DDN Governor, local execs, and 3rd SF Battalion deliver health and social services The local government executives spearheaded by the governor of Davao del Norte and the 3rd Special Forces Battalion jointly delivered health and social services at Brgy. New Cortez, New Corella, Davao del Norte on 10 A.M., Friday, August 26, 2011. Daku kayo ang akong pasalamat sa Convergence Outreach Program sa atong gobyerno nga ginanguluhan sa atong gobernador nga si Gov. Rodolfo P. Del Rosario uban sa tabang sa atong mga kasundaluhan ug nagkadaiyang ahensya sa atong probinsya (I am very grateful for the Convergence Outreach Program of our government spearheaded by Gov. Rofolfo P. Del Rosario together with our soldiers with the help of the different agencies in our province), said Hon. Danilo Mahinay, Barangay Captain of New Cortez, New Corella, Davao del Norte. Health and social services that were delivered include the following: distribution of PhilHealth cards, distribution of free seedlings, distribution of free medicines, free medical and dental check up, and free minor surgeries. Anti-malaria mosquito nets to prevent dengue were distributed. The local executives and the military also implemented feeding program to the undernourished kids. Tree planting was conducted at the backyard of the school of the barangay. Hon. Rodolfo P. Del Rosario, Governor of Davao del Norte and head of the Convergence Initiative for Peace and Development (CIPD), together with Hon. Nestor Alcoran, Mayor of New Corella, Hon. Danilo Mahinay, Barangay Captain of New Cortez, and Lt. Col. Ferdinand Napuli, Commanding Officer of the 3rd Special Forces Battalion concretized the one of the activities of the convergence efforts of the province. The 3rd Special Forces Battalion supports the Convergence Outreach Program of the Davao del Norte Province for through this program, the people whom we serve can truly feel that the government cares for their well being through the delivery of these services. As soldiers, it is our hope to see that our people live in an environment of peace and enjoy the fruits of development, said Lt. Col. Napuli. Among the participants include: Davao del Norte Police Provincial Office, Provincial and Municipal Health Offices, Provincial and Municipal Social Work and Development, Provincial Environment Natural Resources office, Provincial and Municipal Health Offices.

Last August 9, the Convergence for Peace and Development was first launched at Brgy. Gupitan, Kapalong, DDN wherein more than 1, 000 were the beneficiaries.
