Nico INTRODUCTION.

The hip hemiarthroplasty are indicated in patintes of advanced age with low functional demand and / or comorbidities. Given the increased life expectancy of these patients, we observed increased rate of complications. The aim of this work is the early detection of cases of septic loosening of prosthesis and its study and treatment. MATERIAL AND METHODS. We retrospectively analyzed 91 patients operated type hemiarthroplasty Thompson (66) and bipolar hemiarthroplasty (25) from March 2006 to June 2008. RESULTS. Were detected 4 cases of superficial infection (4.39%), 4 cases of early deep infection (4.39%) and 2 cases of late deep infection (2.19%). The latter were in Thompson prostheses and was revised in two stages. DISCUSSION. It is important to note complications of hemiarthroplasty of the hip, such as septic prosthetic loosening rate, so you can get an early diagnosis of it, to prevent comorbidities. We believe that once diagnosed septic failure of the prosthesis the best treatment is removal and placement of prosthetic cement spacer with antibiotics, and subsequent review. Colo Introduction: The objective is to evaluate our experience with the Constant Score and compare the results with other publications. Material and methods: Retrospective study from 2006 to 2010 of 18 shoulder arthroplasties partial performed proximal humerus fracture (16 cases) and avascular bone necrosis (2 cases). Results: We obtained an average Constant Score of 48.66 (maximum 70 and minimum of 27) with 17 poor results and 1 bad. TINCHO Introduction: Prosthetic loosening in total knee arthroplasty is an inevitable complication seen to increase. It is essential to differentiate between mechanical and septic, which determines the kind of treatment to establish. Materials and Methods: We studied 328 patients with TKR for 11 years by the team's knee Municipal Sanatorium "Julio Mendez". Results: We observed 2 cases (0.6 %) of mechanical loosening were treated with revision and 3 cases (0.9 %) of septic loosening treated differently according to their general health, infectious process and surgeon experience. Conclusions: The results were good and the complication rate was low.
