Tekla Structures version 14.

0 for Windows XP / Vista

It also explains where to find more information and tips. Tekla Structures 14.0 is designed to work on Windows XP and Windows Vista. Tekla Structures versions which use the FLEXnet licensing system work also on 64-bit Windows operating systems, but they are run in 32-bit mode, which means that the maximum virtual memory address space for Tekla Structures is 4 GB. If you are running Windows NT or 2000, we recommend that you upgrade to a newer version of Windows. Tekla no longer supports Windows NT and 2000, and cannot guarantee that Tekla Structures 14.0 will work correctly on those platforms. Microsoft has also stopped supporting Windows NT and 2000. Tekla Structures 14.0 does not work on Windows 95, 98, or ME.
Working with existing models

About readme Compatibility

You can open models created in older versions of Tekla Structures, Tekla Xsteel or Tekla Xengineer using Tekla Structures 14.0. Once you save a model in Tekla Structures 14.0, you cannot open it in Tekla Structures 13.1 or older versions of Tekla Structures, in Tekla Xsteel or Xengineer. Set the initial size and maximum size of the Windows virtual memory paging file to at least 1 GB. It is important that these two values are equal. If disk space is not an issue, use 2 - 4 GB. To set the size of the virtual memory paging file in Windows XP: 1. 2. 3. 4. 5. 6. Click the Windows Start button, and click Control Panel. Double-click the System icon, then click the Advanced tab. In the Performance section, click Settings, then Advanced. In the Virtual memory section, click Change. Fill in the Initial size and Maximum size fields. Click the Set button.

Uninstalling

Use the Add/Remove Programs option in the Windows Control Panel to uninstall Tekla Structures 14.0.

When you have installed the latest version of Tekla Structures 14.0, do not use Add/Remove Programs to remove possible earlier installations of this version, if the installations are located in the same folder. If you do this, you will lose important files and Tekla Structures 14.0 will not function correctly.
