UNIT 3:
Teaching Area
During this unit, a puppetKing Henryhelps to present the lessons. King Henry can be a male puppet of any kind with a crown and a cape. The Teacher maneuvers the puppet throughout the lesson and speaks in a kingly voice for King Henrys lines. King Henrys royal box sits on a table in the classroom. The box should be large enough to hold the props and visuals for the Bible story and application activities. Decorate the box with fake jewels, beads, and/or bright colors. Cover the table with a gold or silver tablecloth if one is available. The Helper will be in the back of the room manning the CD player for music and optional sound effects, and will help with the Bible story in several lessons. Be sure to practice each lesson in advance.
Music and
Sound Effects
The suggested songs are available on the Reach Up High and Touch the Sky CDs, and the lesson sound effects are included on the Fall Quarter Sound Effects #2 CD. (There are two sound effects CDs for the Fall Quarter; be sure you pull the second one.) Make sure your Helper is prepared to cue up and play the necessary sound and music for each lesson.
Helpful Hints
Be sure to give the kids an opportunity to get to know you by telling them about yourself or letting them ask you questions. As parents come to pick up their children, remember to introduce yourself and share with each parent some of the positive things you saw in their child.
