If it is 100 then your Windows has Service Pack 1 If it is 200 then your Windows has Service Pack 2 If it is 300 then your Windows has Service Pack 3 (In case of Service Pack 1 and 2 there should be no trouble for installing audio drivers. So for us the value of 300 is important.) 6.Now change that value from 300 to 200 (Yes, we are cheating Windows to think for a short while that it has Service Pack 2!) 7. Now close registry editor and restart your system. 8. After restarting install 'Microsoft UAA for HD Audio' (Preferably using Administrator mode. i.e. right-click on 'Microsoft UAA for HD Audio', then choose 'Run as' and enter password below Administrator inputbox.) 9. After installation open 'Add/Remove Software'(Start->Control Panel->Add/Remov e...) 10. Make sure you can see 'High Definition Audio Driver Package - KB835221' list ed there. (War almost won!) 11. Now open once again open Registry Editor and change that Service Pack Value back to 300. 12. Restart your system. 13. After restarting install the latest HD Audio Drivers from Realtek (again pre ferably

using 'Administrator' mode using method given above) 14. After installtion there will be a request to restart your PC, click 'Restart Now' (Or something like that) 15. If your speakers are connected and are switched on, You should here the Wind ows closing sound!
