1 Test points for Minilink

1. Check all the parameters from LSI (Local Supervision Interface) & match with your records, note down the discrepancy if any & report it immediately 2. Check if there is any alarm 3. Rectify the fault & match the data from LSI

Local Supervision Interface (LSI)

LSI consists of :a) LEDs on outdoor RAU b) LEDs on indoor units c) Display & switches on MMU On RAU i) Green LED :- Power on ii) Red LED :- Indicates a fault iii) No LED Glowing :- No Power available MMU Display Display (8 characters) is in sleeping mode when it is not activated. The toggle switch or push button on MMU must be pressed once to activate the display. In activated state the display has the following status, in normal conditions: TR - Here T stands for Transmitter ON & R stands for receiver Active TR A TR B TR W TR - A TR - B TR - W Traffic disturbing fault at near end terminal Fault at near end terminal, but not disturbing traffic Abnormal condition (loops) in the near end terminal Traffic disturbing fault at far end terminal Fault at far end terminal, but not disturbing traffic Abnormal condition (loops) in the far end terminal

This means that whenever there is any alarm at one end, both the ends will show alarm conditions i.e. near end alarm for one end will display far-end alarm condition at other end. Alarm Indication An alarm is indicated by an asterisk (*) in the rightmost position in the display. WARNING! Before operating the toggle-switch or the push button-remember that certain parameters (eg Tx freq, Tx On/Off, Tx Power & Loops) may be changed by these keys which may in turn disturb the traffic. The new value is accepted by pressing the push-button twice when Execute? is shown on display. Consult your Superior before making any changes in the parameters of Hop.

Actions during Alarm (without Laptop)

TR TR TR TR A B A B : Reset the MMU (switch OFF & then ON the power) at near end : Reset the MMU (switch OFF & then ON the power) at far end : No Action if Traffic working : No Action if Traffic working

If there is no solution by the above steps then remove the MMU from AMM & insert again (Jack-out Jack-in)& check the Alarm conditions, if the fault still persists consult your Superior. Looping Conditions 1) RF loop : The aim of RF (Radio Frequency) loop is to check the proper working of one Terminal, i.e. the communication between MMU & RAU, also the proper functioning of these two. If there are no alarms in one end after RF loop, that specifies that this terminal is free from any faults & the problem could be at the other end. : The aim of IF (Intermediate Frequency) loop is to check the proper working of MMU. If there are no alarms MMU at one end after IF loop, that specifies that the MMU is free from any faults & the problem could be in the Radio section.

2) IF loop

3) Tx/Rx loop : The aim of Tx/Rx loop is to check the proper working of E1 tributories. If there are no alarms in one end after Tx/Rx loop, that specifies that the MMU tribs are free from any faults & the problem could be elsewhere. After each loop confirm the availability of DIP from BSC. Note : If there are no alarms after RF loop that means the terminal is ok hence no need to check other loops.
