2012 UK COMMONWEALTH SCHOLARSHIPS


Applications are invited for Commonwealth Scholarships to participate in one of the following programmes at an eligible university in the United Kingdom with effect from September 2012: Masters { 1 year Taught } Doctoral {including Split-Site and studies being completed in Jamaica} Clinical Training {maximum of 6 months} in Medicine or Dentistry __________________

ELIGIBILITY
Candidates should: Be Jamaican nationals resident in Jamaica for at least two {2} years prior to application Be graduates of a recognized university with at least an Upper Second Class Honours Degree or equivalent Have received their degree within the last five {5} years Submit a signed copy of their printed application form Submit three {3} references* {1 professional, 2 academic} on the prescribed reference forms along with their application form Be able to take up their awards in September/October 2012 Have started application to the Universities of their choice {see http://cscuk.dfid.gov.uk/apply/uk-universities }

Prospective candidates should submit independent applications to their chosen institutions in the United Kingdom prior to, or at the time of their nomination, without awaiting feedback from the Commonwealth Selection Committee {see http://cscuk.dfid.gov.uk/apply/ukuniversities/ } Persons wishing to pursue the Masters in Business Administration {MBA} must have a minimum GMAT score of 550 AT THE TIME OF APPLYING. Persons wishing to pursue undergraduate studies or a second Masters Degree will not be considered.

OBLIGATION
Successful candidates will be required to sign a bond prior to leaving Jamaica, that they will return to work in Jamaica for five {5} years immediately on completion of their course of study to contribute to national development
