What does that organization, its office and spaces, ambience,

arrangements, dcor look like, is it giving you a traditional feel, a modern feel or a mix? The organization that we had chosen definitely gives us an insight into the world of modern organization wherein a definite balance is maintained between human sense and technology and how well any organization can be run without ignoring any of the above two entities. It has a kind of modern look with its small office very well maintained among a large space which has a huge warehouse with systematic arrangements of all the goods that are picked, packed and dispatched in a smooth, efficient manner. And the ambience has a feel of positive vibrations where all the employees are satisfactorily working towards their goal.

Based on your interviews, prepare a write-up on aspects

supporting each of the above. What features does the company share with similar companies? What are its unique features? Are they facing any major problems or issues? What is its success story? Do you think they are making any useful contribution to the society? To their immediate community?

The organization that we visited was HONDA MOTORS PVT LTD. Right from the working office to its huge warehouse adjoining the office everything had a clear modern touch with simple and descent outlook but besides that its major feature being co-ordination between technology and human workforce that was simply amazing.

They have a good database management system from ORACLE that has software of WMS(warehouse management system) to easily locate and generate pick-list of the goods that are ordered by the dealers all over the country. And from here its human workforce that takes the initiative of picking and packing to invoicing and dispatching. These are the common features that they share with other similar companies. But what sets the Honda apart from their competitors is their highest annual turnover and the quality of goods and also the manual counting by different ways of wall-2-wall and cycle counting. And even though they are highest in their turnover but still they have raised their bar by trying to beat themselves with the target turnover of 50 crores monthly that they are eyeing for. No issues till date but major problem that they plan to tackle is to reduce the tremendous transportation cost that they have bear when they dispatch their goods. They owe their success story to their talented human workforce who despite the technology rely on their manual inspection thrice to check the proper condition of goods in the warehouse. They are making useful contribution to the society with their renewable spare parts of their motors which shows their consciousness towards environment. And no doubt their i-vtec engine installed in upcoming Honda 4wheelers ensure minimum fuel consumption and less emission of carbon which is a step taken forward in controlling pollution.
