The batch of 2010-12 consists of students from various regions and backgrounds, handpicked from a pool of applicants with a CAT percentile above 95, after a rigorous selection process consisting of group discussions and multiple interviews. The batch is an interesting mix of fresh graduates and students with work experience. Many of these students are graduates of some of the top institutes in the country and abroad. When such an eclectic mix interacts with one another and shares insights in the classroom, it makes for an enriching B-school experience for the student.

The mutual learning and support are the hallmark of effective Industry-Institute Interaction. The internship with the Industry is necessary to develop realistic and holistic perspective to business and organizations among the students. At IMI, the summer internship programme is an integral part of PGDM and PGDM HR programmes. The students join the organization for 8-10 weeks in the 1st week of April, 2011 where they work on important assignments under the guidance of the company executives and in turn also contribute in a small way to the benefit of the organization. We at IMI foster practical learning by encouraging students to take up live projects and summer project. Once an organization assigns a summer project or a live project to the student, IMI faculty of the area gets in touch with the organization to monitor the progress of the project.
