Summer Project Guidelines for 2012 batch

1. Important dates to remember: a. Contact details (personal and JSB E-mail id, and mobile phone number) should be communicated to the Faculty Guide on or before 27th April, 2011 b. Reporting at the firm must be done not later than 2nd May, 2011 c. Broad area of study and objectives should be finalised and communicated to the Faculty Guide on or before 7th May 2011 d. Acceptance letter from the firm should reach the Faculty Guide on or before 14th May 2011 e. Finalisation of questionnaire (if applicable) must be done on or before 14th May 2011 f. First progress report should be submitted on or before 21st May 2011 g. Second progress report should be submitted on or before 15th June 2011 h. Third progress report must be submitted on the reopening day of the third semester i. PowerPoint presentation must be made to the Faculty Panel on 15th July 2011 Recommended scheme for presentation Topic Objectives Literature review Research design Findings & suggestions Conclusion & learning from the project j. Rough draft must be submitted within 15 days of the date of presentation k. Two hard bound copies of the final draft, with cyan colour wrapper, must be submitted within 15 days of the date of submission of rough draft Research Methodology / Statistical Tools must be identified in consultation with the Faculty Guide Literature and Concept Review must be done in consultation with the Faculty Guide Internal marks will be awarded based on the following aspects: a. Timely reviews and reporting b. Overall quality of the work based on the relevance of objectives, topic, methodology and questionnaire; and c. Presentation made to the Faculty Panel Minimum duration to be spent at the firm is 6 weeks and maximum permissible duration is 8 weeks Certificate of completion from the firm must be submitted on the reopening date Communication from JSB to the students regarding project work will be sent only through E-mail and hence checking the mail box on a regular basis is essential Faculty Guide must be updated on a regular basis about the progress being made to avoid setback at later stages
