‫ﻟﱠﻴْﺲَﺍﻟْﺒِﺮﱠﺃَﻥﺗُﻮَﻟﱡﻮﺍْﻭُﺟُﻮﻫَﻜُﻢْﻗِﺒَﻞَﺍﳌَْﺸْﺮِﻕِﻭَﺍﳌَْﻐْﺮِﺏِ‬
‫ﻭَﻟَـﻜِﻦﱠ ﺍﻟْﺒِﺮﱠ ﻣَﻦْ ﺁﻣَﻦَ ﺑِﺎﻟﻠّ ِﻪ ﻭَﺍﻟْﻴَﻮْﻡِ ﺍﻵﺧِﺮِ‬
‫ﻭَﺍﳌَْﻶﺋِﻜَﺔِ ﻭَﺍﻟْﻜِﺘَﺎﺏِ ﻭَﺍﻟﻨﱠﺒِﻴﱢﲔَ ﻭَﺁﺗَﻰ ﺍﳌَْﺎﻝَ ﻋَﻠَﻰ‬
‫ﺣُﺒﱢﻪِ ﺫَﻭِﻱ ﺍﻟْﻘُﺮْﺑَﻰ ﻭَﺍﻟْﻴَﺘَﺎﻣَﻰ ﻭَﺍﳌَْﺴَﺎﻛِﲔَ ﻭَﺍﺑْﻦَ‬
‫ﺍﻟﺴﱠﺒِﻴﻞِ ﻭَﺍﻟﺴﱠﺂﺋِﻠِﲔَ ﻭَﻓِﻲ ﺍﻟﺮﱢﻗَﺎﺏِ ﻭَﺃَﻗَﺎﻡَ ﺍﻟﺼﱠﻼﺓَ‬
‫ﻭَﺁﺗَﻰ ﺍﻟﺰﱠﻛَﺎﺓَ ﻭَﺍﳌُْﻮﻓُﻮﻥَ ﺑِﻌَﻬْﺪِﻫِﻢْ ﺇِﺫَﺍ ﻋَﺎﻫَﺪُﻭﺍْ‬
‫ﻭَﺍﻟﺼﱠﺎﺑِﺮِﻳﻦَ ﻓِﻲ ﺍﻟْﺒَﺄْﺳَﺎﺀ ﻭﺍﻟﻀﱠﺮﱠﺍﺀ ﻭَﺣِﲔَ‬
‫ﺍﻟْﺒَﺄْﺱِ ﺃُﻭﻟَـﺌِﻚَ ﺍﻟﱠﺬِﻳﻦَ ﺻَﺪَﻗُﻮﺍ ﻭَﺃُﻭﻟَـﺌِﻚَ ﻫُﻢُ‬
‫ﺍﳌُْﺘﱠﻘُﻮﻥَ‬
In the name of Allah, the most Beneficent, the
most Merciful

Transliteration

[002:177 Laysa (it is not) albirra

(righteousness) an (that) tuwalloo (you
turn)
wujoohakum (your faces) qibala (towards)
almashriqi (the east) waalmaghribi (and or
the west) walakinna (but) albirra (righteous
is) man (he who) amana (believes) biAllahi
(in Allah) waalyawmi al-akhiri (and the
Last Day) waalmala-ikati (and the angels)
waalkitabi (and the Book) waalnnabiyyeena
(and the Prophets) waata (and gives)
almala (wealth) AAala (in spite of ) hubbihi
(his love for it) thawee alqurba (to the
kinsfolk) waalyatama (and the orphans)
waalmasakeena (and the needy) waibna
alssabeeli (and the wayfarer) waalssa-ileena
(and to those who ask for help) wafee
(and in for) alrriqabi (the ransom of slaves)
waaqama (and offers) alssalata (the
prayer) waata (and pays) alzzakata (Zakat)
waalmoofoona (and who fulfill)
biAAahdihim (their promise) itha (when)
AAahadoo (they promise) waalssabireena

(and who remain patient) fee (in) alba/sa-i

(adversity) waalddarra-i (and affliction)
waheena (and at the time of) alba/si (peril)
ola-ika (such are they) allatheena (who)
sadaqoo (have proved true) waola-ika (and
those are) humu (they who are)
almuttaqoona.(pious)]

Translation

[002:177 It is not righteousness that ye turn

your faces Towards east or West; but it
is righteousness- to believe in Allah and the
Last Day, and the Angels, and the Book,
and the Messengers; to spend of your
substance, out of love for Him, for your kin,
for
orphans, for the needy, for the wayfarer, for
those who ask, and for the ransom of
slaves; to be steadfast in prayer, and practice
regular charity; to fulfil the contracts
which ye have made; and to be firm and
patient, in pain (or suffering) and adversity,
and throughout all periods of panic. Such are
the people of truth, the Allah.fearing. ]
Exegeses:

In the previous discussion we have talked

about this verse in which Allah Subhana-Wa-
Ta’aala is talking about definition of the true
righteousness. And Allah Subhana-Wa-
Ta’aala has explained that the true
righteousness is the Usooludin. And
Usooludin
mentioned in this holy verse is that is the
Tawheed and the
life pattern of Ahlul Bayt. And when He says
waalyawmi al-akhiri, which is Day of
Judgment. We have to believe in the Last
Day of Accountability. After it Allah says
waalmala-ikati and the word comes
waalkitabi and then waalnnabiyyeena. These
are the
basic things on which a man should have firm
Iman. These are called Usooludin. Other
is Al Adel and Immamah. Immamah is
included into the Nabooha. Because
Immamah is
the continuation of the prophethood. And if
you look at the Al Adel which is the justice
of Allah Subhana-Wa-Ta’aala that also comes
in Al Tawheed. There are four Usooludin
in this holy verse supra mentioned. So the
Usooludin is the sign of righteousness. After
Allah Subhana-Wa-Ta’aala has mentioned
this now Allah Subhana-Wa-Ta’aala
continues in telling us that Furooh Din, Allah
Subhana-Wa-Ta’aala wants to tell us that
the righteousness is to observe Usooludin and
Furooh Din in your life. When I have
Usooludin then I practice Usooludin and
Furooh Din, which are the fundamentals of
Islam. These are the branches of Islam. If
these are practiced in true letter then it could
be called a man is righteous person.
Dear readers, this holy verse can be divided
into six parts. The first part is the
Iman, and the Iman bases on Usooludin.
Second part of the holy verse is Iman is to be
spread in the cause of Allah. Then after you
believe in our ways to give money for the
love of Allah to your relatives. Allah is
giving the importance on giving on spending
the
money among the needy ones. But for the
sake of Allah Subhana-Wa-Ta’aala only not
to
show off. Because the love of money is
different in different classes of the people.
Some
people love the money to the extent they love
to spend the money for themselves. And
ome people spend money on their wife and
children and themselves. And some spend
