Exegeses
In the holy verses mentioned above Allah is giving us the details what happened between
Adam and shaitan. Also Allah is telling us in the verses supra mentioned that what was
the cause for Adam that he was descended on the earth.
I would like to begin from the previous verse of the same surah. Allah mentions
in 002:036 Faazallahuma (then made both of them slip) alshshaytanu (the Satan) – then
the shaitan made them slip therefrom the paradise…It would be pertinent to understand
the meanings of shaitan in complete sense so that the quintessence of the holy verse may
come out. Shaitan word originates from a word shaaten. It means Al Khabis Walwabiya
it gives us the meaning of something evil or something low in its degree or standard. The
word shaitan is used for the humans as well as jinns – if they commit sin they are
regarded as shaitan. Any evil spiritual being can also be said shaitan. Therefore, if we
use the word shaitan it does not only mean Iblis. Shaitan could be any being who
commits sin. The first verse with the reference of shaitan is

shaitan places the hatred

and enmity among you. Wine and evil actions can also be regarded as shaitan. There is
another verse in which we can read about shaitan

(And so We have
appointed for every Prophet enemies – Shayatin/devils among mankind and jinn…) One
important point to note that in the holy Quran shaitan has been used in the plural form.
Because, all the prophets had to face the consequences raised by shaitan. And they
conquered shaitan. They were victors without having any shaitan with them. And Satan
also appears in different forms and profiles. Shaitan in Arabic is not used only for Iblis.
It can be also used for human beings and it can also be used for jinns. Any evil, which
leads to the wrong path, is called Satan/shaitan. There are hadith by which we can define
the shaitan.
After Adam ate the fruit of forbidden tree, Allah was inspired by some words of
his prayer, which he received for forgiveness. Allah says He pardoned him. When Allah
says that Adam received some words, the question comes in our mind that what were
those words that Adam received.
The followers of Ahlul Bayt are of the view that the words Adam received were
the names of Ahlul Bayt. After he found that he committed sin he asked Allah to forgive
him. And then Allah said He could forgive him if he calls the holy names. Then Adam
looked at Allah Subhana-Wa-Ta’aala. There he found the holy names of Ahlul Bayt –
the names of Muhammadun, Wa Aliun, Wer Kaafeymaa, Wel Hassan, Wel Hussain.
These were the names on the scroll of Allah Subhana-Wa-Ta’aala. Then Allah forgave
him for the sake of these holy names. Adam did tauba (repentance). Tauba means to

return from sin. When man does tauba he returns from the sin. Allah is all forgiving.
And He is all merciful.
Then Allah says that Adam was asked to get down on the earth with his wife Eve.
They both had to leave the paradise on the command of Allah Subhana-Wa-Ta’aala.
Allah told them that the guidance of Allah would come to them and especially those who
would follow the guidance of Allah would have no fear or fright. And the guidance may
be from any prophet deputed by Allah. And such people would have no grief in their life.
Dear readers don’t take this part of the exegeses for granted. There is a high profile
message for the high-energy minds. The people, who do understand the system of the
holy Quran and establish the system in true letter in practical form, would have no fear or
fright. They would establish a practical system on the planet that the humanity would
flourish irrespective to color, creed, or cast. Subhan Allah (all glory to Allah).
Then Adam said to Allah both of them (he and his wife)
Oh Lord we have deceived

ourselves. if you do not forgive us

and have mercy upon us

we will be among those who will lose their

balance on the Day of Judgment. And then some said the meaning of this pray that Adam

said Oh
Lord there is no Lord but you. You are the highest Lord. And the Lord of all things.
yes Lord I have deceived myself forgive me
and you are all forgiving. This was the Du’a that Adam read in order

seek the forgiveness from Allah. And then Allah Subhana-Wa-Ta’aala said the
Almighty Allah said them get down. Then He asked Adam that he should leave the
paradise together with his wife. But dear readers you must know that Adam while being
directed to leave the paradise was not insulted or disgraced by Allah. He was addressed
by every possible norms of respect. Allah leaves all the matters to note by two angels.
These are fixed on the shoulders of man to note the good and evil deeds. When Adam
was sent on the earth two angles were set on his shoulders to note his worldly deeds. The
Law of Requital of Allah is operative from the very first moment of Kun Fayyakun.
The lesson we get from the holy verses mentioned above is that Adam would
commit sins and faults. The nature to do so has been made by Allah. It can never
change. But the sin can also be transformed into the pious acts through the Quranic
process. This is the biggest possible lesson we get from these verses. Because Adam is
prone to errors. But what about those human beings who are the members of the holy
family? What about those humans who are regarded with true sanctity - the holy Imams?
Yes they were also the human beings, but their shaitan or Iblis had become under their

control. And the shaitan and Iblis of them had no courage to incite them committing sins.
That’s why Allah made them by birth infallible. Subhan Allah (all glory to Allah).
So two angles on the shoulders of the humans in this world is actually a system of
the justice of Allah. That our every moment and our every portion of the thought is being
recorded in some kind of divine register that a man can never deny his sins on the Day of
Judgment. We would be a witness against us.
And when Adam with his wife Eve were sent on the earth it was said to them that
Allah’s further guidance would come to them on the earth. And the pious people who
would follow the guidance of Allah they would be having no fear or fright in this world
and in hereafter.
The system of the holy Quran adapted by Muhammad (Salla 'Llahu 'alayhi wa
sallam), Ahlul Bayt, holy twelve Imams is so complete in its efficacious results that there
could be no problem in our societal values, in our internal lives, in our mental lives, in
our approach to others – that it would overhaul every part of the life of a moumin.
These verses prove one great fact that Allah has given us a way of Tauba. Every
sin can be washed by the waters of Tauba with true heart and firm resolution not to repeat
such acts which are called and considered sins. The bad effects of sin can be changed
into genial effects of rewards. This is the promise of Allah with us. And the pages of the
holy Quran are replete with this kind of message for us.
May Allah give us strength to follow the holy footprints of Ahlul Bayt and twelve
holy Imams.

Further would be discussed in next session in detail Inshallah!
