EDHEC BUSINESS SCHOOL ADMISSIONS PHILOSOPHY

Candidates for the EDHEC Business School Master of Science Programmes should keep in mind that admission decisions are made on the basis of the applicant's overall profile as reflected in the completed application package.

Successful MSc applicants, while displaying a wide range of educational backgrounds and experiences, are distinguished by academic excellence, strong analytical skills, interpersonal competencies, international awareness, proven motivation to undertake the programme and capacity to make significant contributions to its learning environment, and the potential to succeed as professionals/managers/leaders in the related field.

The Admissions Committee relies heavily on Profiles, Essays, Recommendation Letters and the Resume that are part of each candidate's application file. Please fill out each profile sheet carefully and devote the time needed to write a personal essay (profile sheet number 8) that provides a faithful picture of your personality and motivation.

This is essential to permit the Admissions Committee to make a fair assessment of your candidacy for one of the EDHEC Business School Master of Science Programmes. Please note that the application file should be completed in ENGLISH. However Recommendation Letters can be written in English or in French.

Although academic ability is an important factor for success in our highly competitive MSc programmes, EDHEC Business School does not count exclusively on academic aptitude testing scores as part of its selection process. GMAT or GRE scores are required, but are only one of the many criteria taken into consideration. It is felt that such scores alone do not accurately reflect the skills needed for successful participation in the programme or the potential for management EDHEC Business School strives to develop.

Fluency in English is required for applying to EDHEC Business Schools International Programmes. Therefore, certificates or test scores that demonstrate applicants English language ability are needed for admission. A number of well-known tests or diplomas of English may be sent to the Admissions Office to support your application; however, we encourage applicants to use the TOEFL, TOEIC, IELTS or Cambridge English Exams because of their international recognition. Applicants with recent University degrees from institutions where the curriculum was taught exclusively in English will be granted waivers as well as native English speakers.
