All other lenders and MPN's will need to be completed by working with that specific lender. ENC will accept loans from any lender the student chooses. AWARD LETTER GUIDE

For many families this may be your first experience working with award letters and attempting to evaluate your financial package. School award letters can appear very different and make it difficult to compare. Below is a short Q/A of many of the questions families have with the award letters. How do I compare award packages at different schools to determine which is best for me? Do not simply look at scholarship amounts, only because school prices can be very different. One school may offer a higher scholarship amount on the award letter but their total cost might be higher as well. Therefore, the final cost to the family may still be greater, even if the scholarship package is greater. Always determine the cost of attendance for the year and subtract the scholarships on the award letter to determine the remaining amount to be covered by additional financial aid methods. Though cost can be a significant factor in this decision making process, also weigh your investment against the value of earning an education from Eastern Nazarene College. To assist you in determining your cost and ways to cover it please use the tool Borrow Smart. The tool Borrow Smart can be accessed by going here: www.enc.edu/borrowsmart What other types of aid can I get to help cover my bill? Go to www.enc.edu/financialaid to see all of the options available to cover your costs including scholarship information. Also Borrow Smart is a great tool to help guide you through paying the bill. www.enc.edu/borrowsmart Where is my PLUS loan or Federal Work Study that I see on other school award letters? This is called bundling and other schools frequently apply this practice of including a PLUS loan and Work Study to cover the total costs. In essence, this inflates their award package to make their package appear to covers all costs. There is no guarantee you will qualify for these aid options and therefore ENC does not include them in the award letter before the loans and Work Study have actually been approved. The PLUS loan is one of the best loans but has to be approved through a credit evaluation. The PLUS loan can cover all of the remaining costs not covered by your other aid. You can determine the optimal loan amount through Borrow Smart. Once you have been approved for the PLUS loan (or any other loan) we will add it to your award letter. Work Study is typically awarded to show eligibility for those funds. If you plan to work on campus and have financial need you also qualify for work-study at ENC! For each semester, most students budget $1000 for Work Study. Work Study funds go directly to your paycheck and will only be reflected on your bill if you set up payroll deduction. Payroll deduction allows for a percentage of earnings to be automatically deducted from your paycheck and transferred directly to you student account for paying your bill. You can include Work Study in your Borrow Smart payment calculations. www.enc.edu/borrowsmart

AWARD LETTER INSTRUCTIONS

The award letter must be completed, signed and returned to us before we can process your loans. To complete the award letter simply initial the line to the right of each award on the document labeled Award Letter. Initial the accept line to accept the award, initial the decline line to decline the award. Future award letters will document your decisions. If you would like to change your decision simply cross out the previous decision and write in the new action you would like for that award. If you would like less than the full award for any item simply cross out the amount and write in the lesser amount you want and accept the award. By signing the award letter, without initialing each award, we will automatically accept the award.

The Eastern Nazarene College (ENC) Payment Contract serves as both the application and the promissory note for all tuition and fee payments due ENC and is valid until all charges due are paid in full. These charges are the obligation of the student and parent/guardian. Remaining balances after all financial arrangements are applied are due and payable at registration and will accrue interest at an annual rate of 15%. It is further understood that the undersigned will be responsible for all attorneys fees and other costs and charges necessary for collection of any amount not paid when due, as credit has been extended by ENC for financing the undersigned students education and is considered an education loan. ENC requires that all students who enroll in classes complete, sign and return the Payment Contract and Worksheet. Failure to complete and turn in the Payment Contract may result in the student being withdrawn from classes.

Signatures are required. Payment Contracts without both signatures will delay registration clearance.

Financial Acknowledgment
By signing this document you acknowledge that you have read the following financial items. If you are not full time (12 or more credits) for a particular semester you may not qualify for institutional aid or your full Federal aid. Less than part time (less than 6 credits) for a particular semester can affect your ability to defer your loans. You must maintain satisfactory academic progress (SAP) in order to maintain most forms of financial aid. Details of the SAP policy are available online and through the Undergraduate Catalog. If you withdraw from ENC, your awards could be reduced or canceled depending on when your withdrawal occurs during the academic semester. The Undergraduate Catalog contains the full withdrawal policy. Any unpaid charges as a result of the withdrawal will be your responsibility. Under Title IV (Federal) programs, we cannot disburse funds if you owe a return of funds on a canceled grant or loan, are in default on a grant or loan, or have borrowed in excess of loan limits at any institution. You must use your Title IV (Federal) money for expenses related to your study at ENC.
