A Simple Splash of Color Materials: 3 colors of yarn (preferably Aran weight) MC: You'll need the most of this

color AC1: This can be quite a small amount as you'll only use it for 4 rows AC2: This will be a small amount as well; used for about an inch of pattern Recommended Needle Size: Size 8 short circulars Pattern Notes: Needed Skills: Knit one in the front and back of a stitch, knit two together, knit, purl Seed Stitch: *K1 P1* repeat to end CO 80 MC: Work in 2x2 ribbing (knit 2 purl 2) for about 1" On the next round *K1AC1 P1MC* repeat to end *K1AC1* one round Switch to AC2 and K2tog P1 once then knit in seed stitch for about an inch (note: the stitch number is now odd and so you will alternate starting rows with K and P. e.g. Row 1 of the seed stitch is K2tog so Row 2 will start with P1, Row 3 K1, Row 4 P1, etc.) Kfb once and then *K1AC1* for one row (there are now 80 stitches again) *K1AC1 P1MC* for one row Knit in stockinette *K1* until piece measures 6.5" from brim Do the following rounds for one row each *K2tog K6* *K1* *K2tog K5* *K1* *K2tog K4* *K1* *K2tog K3* *K1* *K2tog K2* *K1* *K2tog K1* *K1* *K2tog* There should be ten stitches left on the needles and you can thread the yarn through these and pull together, tying the yarn off.
