EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
In the current scenario of high economic growth and globalisation, the fight for providing better IT products and solution is becoming increasingly intense. Technical advancement is a major asset for any organisation..Organisation invests huge amount of money for procurement of such products and when it comes for Government sector or PSU they choose the way of tenders for any such kind of procurement. As we all know that today in market there are n no of companies which provide various kind of IT products and service, they all participate in these tenders and bid for the same. Now the scene is such that there are limited no of OEMs and more no of vendors so this makes the whole tendering process very complicated and requires lot of thinking and manipulation. Overall it has become very important for vendors to choose the right OEM and maintain a fair relation with rest of all in order to be more competitive and survive in the market along with fulfil its goal.

INTRODUCTION
Todays scenario in the tendering department is a highly competitive one. In the wake of liberalization as the economy opens up more and more international IT industries are entering into the market and giving tough competition to the Indian companies. Tendering is one of the most complicated function related to the government sector as it involves various legal and technical works. PRICES play a very important role as it is on the basis of the price a tender is selected or rejected. TECHINCAL QUALIFICATION is equally important as without it company cannot participate in a tender. Its all the game of price and it is the key basis of decision making in a tender. The problem arises because there are very few OEMs and more no of vendors. So the prices provided by them is same, now the profit margin plays important role in quoting the price
The tender generally includes two type of bids: TECHNICAL BID: - A company has to technically qualify for participating in the tender. Every tender has some technical qualification depending on the tender published. Qualification could be like: 1- Annual turnover 2- Past experience 3- Manufacturer authorisation certificate 4- Past similar works PO (purchase order) COMMERCIAL/PRICE BID:- After qualifying technically a company/vendor has to beat other vendors on basis of the price quoted.
As the above figure depicts following are the factors affecting the price of a product in a tender and on basis of these itself the price has to be quoted . PROFIT MARGIN OF OEM:- OEM provides the price to a vendor after adding its profit margin in the cost price of product. PROFIT MARGIN OF VENDOR:-Now vendor adds its profit margin in the prices received. LEAST PRICE TO BE QUOTED:- Here vendor has to see that the price it quotes in the tender should be least in order to win the tender.

Data collection is most important part of research because the research is based on it. There are several ways of collecting data which differs considerably in terms of cost, time and other resources at the disposal of the researchers. The data collection method for this research work is from primary source as well as secondary.

Primary Source: Source from where first hand information gathered directly
are called primary source and thus information collected is called Primary data. In case of above study the primary source was OEM and Albion informatics.
Primary Data:- The techniques available for collecting primary data are: y Interview method y Observation method y Questionnaire method Secondary Source: The source of information already gathered for some other
purpose are available is called secondary data, with regard to my study secondary sources of my study where records of the company. The Secondary data was collected on the basis of requirement, conveniences and reliability of the data. Out of these I have chosen OBSERVATION method to collect the data.

Conclusion
From the above study it could be easily concluded that HP has constantly been providing lower prices to ALBION INFORMATICS as compared to other VENDORS and OEMS so the first preference in any tender for the company would be HP. Few things which also could be concluded from the study are: 1-There is need to improve relations with other OEMs too because lot of tenders require specific MAKE of product. Like few tenders ask for DELL high end desktops now in these kinds of tenders the probability of winning the tender is quite low 2-Also one can see that prices of OEMs are positively related to each other it means that if one is going to increase the price other will also, the point of concern is the amount of increase and decisions have to be taken accordingly.
