I/ GENERAL Generally , we have following main sections in a dissertation : 1. Introduction (2500 words) 2. Literature review (5000) 3. Research methodology (3500) 4. Finding, discussion & analysis (5000) 5. Conclusion & recommendation (2500) Your dissertation should have 16200-19800 words *In your proposal ,you only focus on 1,2,3 II/DETAIL 1. Background of research You should answer below questions : WHATre your purposes of research? WHY is your research important? WHAT is the contribution of your research? HOW do you intend to conduct the research? Identify your researchs objectives & research questions? And show what do you want to achieve? Ex: to examine to indentify to measure

to explain You should have related questions for each objective. Outcome of your research. 2.Literature review They are secondary resources that will provide theorical and conceptual underpinnings for your research. In an another word, that refer to existing knowledge ( evidence + support) Notes : + They must be relevant , reliable , professional journals and economic. + Should use references after 1990 + They concentrate on the objectives of research + To test your research against evidence ? 3.Research methodology <A> Firstly, you should mention general theories in relation to the research : 2 Research paradigms : positivistic & interpretive 2 research approaches : deductive & inductive 2 research methods : qualitative & quantitative <B> Make a choice, discuss and justify the choice against your R.objectives + R. questions.

We can also mixed methods :

Research interpretive (Mixed) Interpretive Quatitativee method (e.g: T-test..) Adopt deductive approach Positivistic Adapt a deductive approach (explanation) Apply qualitative method

This section answers the question : HOW will you conduct your research ? e.g: Type of survey technique ? (questionnaires, interviews, email) should refer to Limitation of Research design. 4.Finding , discussion and analysis + How do you present your data from your responses? e.g: tables, charts, graphs, diagrams

*Analysis and discussion: + What does the data mean + tell us ? + How do your results compare with existing theories + concepts ? (because these will also help explain your results) + Awareness of limitations of your results? 5.Conclusions & recommendations: + Summary of your key most significant findings, analysis and discussion (key objectives + key research questions)

+ Discuss whether you have achieved/ accomplished the objectives and answered your R. questions , justify them (evidence +findings + literature review) ? + Recommendation : Follow the conclusions and they should be : Acceptable ( by stakeholders) Feasible (resources : human + physical) Suitable LEARNING STATEMENT Reflection of your experience in conducting the dissertation + what you learnt ? + What skills you need ? + Can you transfer to other parts of your life ? + Are there some constraints? How to over them? + How have you developed both personally + professionally? etc
