Learning in the course of the Internship:

The most important learning that I got in the internship was how to pitch to a client depending on the client itself, keeping in mind the taste of the client the company will be catering to. I learned the art of creating pitch presentation. I learned the way an ad agency as a team worked, the client service team and the creative team working together to create a marvelous piece of advertising. I learned how the environment of an ad agency is in reality. I got to know how billboard spaces are bought and their rates in Kolkata differing in different places. I learned how to have a corporate communication with a client as Big as Hero Honda and as less known as Ganga Motors.

CONFIDENTIALITY OF THE COMPANY

As all the presentations made for the pitching of the account contained the ad agencys details which is confidential to the Company they did not allow me to carry any documents outside the office for their safety purpose and I have to sign in their confidentiality letter and submit them.

SUMMER INTERNSHIP REPORT 2011

Observations
The organization needs more employees to carry out all the programs efficiently.

RECOMMENDATION
A well defined work profile should be provided to the media trainees in consent with the organization in order to allow the intern to fully develop his or her skills in his or her

discipline. The tenure of the internship should be shorter in consideration with footprints to allow interns to fully commit to his or her work.

Conclusion
This six week internship was a complete learning experience. It allowed me to hone and develop my skills and also provided excellent knowledge and a firsthand insight into how an Ad Agency works and functions despite of the fact that they face thousands of obstacles in the way. An essential component to any communication management course it added immensely to what will eventually is a repertoire of more exposure in the field. It drastically changed my perception of how a real life pitching is done and how it varies for companys where the agency is catering to.
