1.1 Safety instructions
Do not manipulate this navigation system while driving. If you have to manipulate it, park your car in a safe place. Before Use

It is very dangerous to manipulate the navigation system or view its screen while driving. Drive your car with paying attention to surrounding traffic conditions and pedestrians.

The voice guidance and route on the map may differ from the actual road status. Be sure to drive safely, observing actual road signs and traffic regulations. If the navigation system leads you to a road that is difficult to drive due to poor road conditions, use another road for safety depending on the situation. The GPS receiver may be affected depending on the type of car or devices used. In case of poor reception, contact with the hardware manufacturer.

The GPS reception quality may be affected by geographic conditions and weathers. In worse cases, the guidance may not be correct.

While driving, the navigation system may be damaged by the severe vibration. Accordingly check whether the navigation is normally mounted before driving your car. The driver is responsible for the product damage caused while driving.

1.2 Introduction for ROUSEN U


What is ROUSEN U?
ROUSEN U is car navigation software to navigate the route and direction of the destination using GPS (Global Positioning Satellite System) and the digital map. You can perform various search functions such as Search Name, Search Address, Search My POI, Search Nearby, Search Category, and map search to set the start point, stop-over point, and destination. Also, ROUSEN U provides voice guidance for a convenient tour.

Main features of ROUSEN U are as follow.

Before Use ROUSEN U provides a variety of searching way to guide the route quickly and accurantly. By the intelligent search function of the ROUSEN U, you can use an automatical intergrated search function with entering the word just once.

If the route has stop-over places, you can set the route navigation method differently by route section such as start-stop over, stop over-destination.

Eco driving with efficient driving habit helps to protect the environment by reducing carbon dioxide. This function lets you know the information about the number of rapid acceleration, deceleration and CO2 emission to makes you drive efficiently.

Guidance for lanes at the first and second guidance point


ROUSEN U displays the lane information of the first guidance point as well as second guidance point on the map. You can move to the lane to destination by getting the lane Before Use information in advance.

3D real image of intersection


This is provided for realistic guidance with 3D real image in a complex area such as intersection or IC on the expressway area. These 3D real intersection pictures in ROUSEN U have been created the same as the real picture taken for main intersections and roundabout in the country.

Route learning function


The route learning function is used to save a previous driving route for automatically guiding your favorite path. In addition, when the destination is wrongly guided, it automatically restores the final destination for normal guidance. If you want to use this function, touch the Menu-Set-Function-Route Learning and set the options. Before Use

This function can be used when the current route has same start point and destination point If you do not want to use this function, move to the Menu-Set-Function-Route Learning and touch the 'Not save' button. If you intentionally change the setting or driving condition is abnormal, the route learning function does not work.

Intentional deviation detection


If you ignore the guidance and moves to a different level road while driving on an expressway or normal road, the navigation automatically determines the intention of the user and switches to an appropriate navigation option.

Layout of the selected location


When a specific position is selected on the map, the following window appears.

Name

Description Moves to the map screen to the current location of the vehicle. Guidance starts after the current location is set to the start point and the selected point is set to the destination. Sets the selected location as a start point.

Sets the selected location as a stop-over point.

Sets the selected location as a destination point.

Searches the local facilities.

Sets the selected location as a registered point.

Displays the location and code of the seleted point.

Direction signs window

While you driving, when you need a u-turn again after you drive more than 1 km, the u-turn information is guided in advance.

It provides correct information about the turn point to use get the intersection enlarged.

3D real intersection window


This is provided for realistic guidance in a complex intersection area with 3D real image. These 3D real intersection pictures in ROUSEN U have been created the same as the real picture taken for main intersections and rotaries in the country.

When your car enters the expressway, the guidance mode changes to expressway mode automatically..

The expressway information window displays information such as rest area, IC, JC, and TG.

Express image screen


It helps you to drive easily by showing almost same image of express enterance. This image is shown at the main sites on expressway such as IC, JC and TG.

Mini map window


In your driving, you can find the mini map window in the quick menu which is on the right of the bottom.

You can check the whole route from the start point to the destination. Also the mini map shows current location of your car so you can see the remaining distance and elapsed distance at a glance.

The mini map window appears only when the route is over 5km away.

Dual map window


If you touch the North Up icon when driving, you can adjust 2D/3D of the angle, zoom in/out of the map and can use dual map mode.

Arrange the menu


You can place the menu where you want. (left side/right side)

Touch the Menu-Set.

Touch the Display and then choose the Arrangement,

Choose what you want to use with arrow, and then touch the Apply button.

The menu will be displayed where you choose.

2.4 Exit the ROUSEN U


You can use two ways to exit the ROUSEN U.

3.1 Adjusting the map level

3.2 Adjusting the map angle


If you touch the 2D/3D mode button in the menu bar on the left side on the map, you can adjust the map screen angle. By moving the level bar button up and down, you can change the angle in your preference.

3.3 Use area filter


If you use the area filter function, it is much easier to find the exact result you searched among the bunch of result list. Follow the process below.

Choose the Search Name button in the menu.

Touch the Search button after entering the word you want to search.

Auxiliary Functions

If results are displayed in the list, you can choose the area where destination is located in by using Area button.(City/Do)

Applicable results you chose are only displayed in the list.

3.4 Registering location and starting route guidance


Registering the current location
For registering the current location of the vehicle or nearby site, touch the point you want on the map and Mark button. Enter the information such as name, phone number and symbol and then touch the Register button.

If you touch the message bar or wait for 3 seconds, the registration is completed.

If you want to confirm the registered location, choose the Search My POI button in the menu.

Choose the location you want and then touch the button at the bottom to perform the desired function. (e.g.: choose the Panning)

You can see the location on the map and start the route guidance after setting as a Start/Via/Goal point.

Registering home and starting route guidance


If you register Home, you can directly get the route guidance without the searching step whenever you drive to home.

After you search your home with various searching way, touch the Register button on the panning screen.

Enter the information such as name, phone number, group and symbol and then touch the Home button.

Auxiliary Functions

Choose the Yes button after the message The selected location will be saved as HOME appears.

For starting the route guidance, touch the Home button at the botton of the menu. (Also, you can run the route guidance by touching Home button at the beginning of the ROUSEN)

If you see home you registered, touch the button at the bottom to perform the desired function. (e.g.: choose the Guide)

Start the route guidance to Home.

Registering office and starting route guidance


If you register Office, you can directly get the route guidance without the searching step whenever you drive to office.

After you search your office with various searching way, touch the Register button on the panning screen.

Enter the information such as name, phone number, group and symbol and then touch the Office button.

Choose the Yes button after the message The selected location will be saved as OFFICE appears.

For starting the route guidance, touch the Office button at the botton of the menu. (Also, you can run the route guidance by touching Office button at the beginning of the ROUSEN)

If you see office you registered, touch the button at the bottom to perform the desired function. (e.g.: choose the Guide)

3.5 Using the registered sites


Registering the POI
You can register the site that you often drive or want to go as your POI. You can get time efficiency by registering your POI (Point of interest). Auxiliary Functions

Touch the location you want to go or after searching, touch the Mark button at the buttom.

Enter the information such as name, phone number, group and symbol and then touch the Register button.

Completed register screen appears. After a moment, it moves to the first screen again.

Modifying or deleting the POI


You can modify or delete the POI you registered.

Choose the Search My POI button in the menu.

Choose the location you want to change the information, touch the edit or delete button on the POI list.

Touch the each Modify button in the middle to change the information such as name, phone, group and symbol and then touch Modify button at the bottom.

The confirmation window appears.

Editing the registered group


You can make a grouping or editing with the registered sites.

Select the current location of the vehicle or nearby site on the map, touch the Mark button.

Choose the Modify button on the right of the group line.

Auxiliary Functions

The common group is basically registered already. Touch the New button to create a new group.

Enter the group name you will use and then touch the Apply button. (e.g. :group school )

If the shopping group is created, touch the Apply button.

If you touch the Modify button on the right of the group line, it moves to the group editing screen.

After you choose the shopping group and then touch the Apply button.

3.6 GPS information


You can check the GPS connection status by touching the GPS reception symbol (satellite shape) on the map, (Touch the MAP button on the top to move to the map.)

The figures in GPS Status indicate the unique number of the corresponding satellite and the numbe of bars indicate the reception sensitivity.

3.7 Managing the safety information


Entering the safety information
If you think the site you judge dangerous, you can register as a caution area with safety information
Choose the safety information symbol and the direction among Positive/Both/Negative for applicable site.

Choose the Safety button on the map.

Managing the safety information


Choose the Manage Safety button in the menu to manage the safety information.

Touch the Menu-Additional Manage Safety one by one.

Information-

Choose the Modify or Delete button to change the safety information.

3.8 Managing the travel record


You can choose the way you want among Recent/Today/Cumulative to see the trevel record. The Initialization button initializes the selected option (Recent/Today/Accumulate) only. Tavel record is also provided by touching icon showing time on the map. Auxiliary Functions

3.9 Astronomical information


If you choose the Astronomical Information in the menu, the astronomical information about sun, moon and star is provided.

Touch the Menu-Additional InformationAstronomical Information.

Displays the current date(including lunar), time and location of the sun by azimuth and altitude also provides the time of the sunrise and sunset.

If you choose the moon in the second screen, the current date(including lunar), time and the shape of the moon and period(basis of the end of the month or fortnight) are provided.

If you choose the star in the third screen, you can notice the north up direction through the constellation of Cassiopeia and the Big Dipper including the date of lunar

Chapter 4. Using Searches


4.1 Search Name
You can search the destination by destination name or facility name you want to go. It is possible by following Menu-Search Destination-Search Name.

Choose the location you want to go in the list and then touch the button at the bottom to perform the desired function.

If you choose the Route button in the 7th window, the following screen will appear. Touch the button at the bottom to perform the desired function.

If you choose the panning button in the 7th window, it moves to the map screen that can check and modify the destination.

4.2 Search Address


You can search the destination by entering the destination address directly. Follow the process below.

Choose the region data

Touch the Menu-Search Destination-Search Address.

Choose the City or Do (province).

Using Searches

4.3 Search Nearby


You can search the facilities near the current location of the vehicle basis of Nearby Car Pos./Route/Nearby End. If the route is set, the facilities nearby the route will appear. And If the route is not set yet, it searchs the facilities within the radius based on current location.

Setting the type of business


You can quite freely set and edit the type of amenities provided in nearby search. It is possible to set amenities maximum 15 types. Follow the process below.

Touch the Menu-Search Destination-Search Nearby.

Touch the Set type of business button at the bottom.

The facilities are shown on the current menu are checked and the others are not checked.

Touch the Apply button after you check the facilities you want to use.

The facilities you checked are shown on the list of nearby search.

4.4 Search Recent Destination


This function remembers the destination you searched recently so you can search the same destination quickly.

You can search the various facilities about specific industry. The category often you use(Main category) has the highest priority.

Touch the Menu-Search Destination-Search Categoty.

Choose the category you want in the main category list. (e.g.: Choose the Department Store)

Touch the Area button at the bottom to filter the area you want to search.

If the results list is shown, touch the button at the bottom to perform the desired function.

4.6 Search My POI


You can search the location you registered.

Touch the Menu-Search Destination-Search My POI.

Choose the location you want in the list. If you touch the Route button, the route guidance will start.

Touch the button at the bottom to perform the desired function. If you touch the Route Info., the simulated driving will start.

If you choose the Guide button in the third window, the route guidance starts.

Chapter 5. Route Navigation


5.1 Setting the start, destination and stop-over points
Search the location you want through the various searching method and then move to the map. If the point you searched is shown, set the start, stop-over and destination point with the buttons at the bottom.

Route Navigation

Sets the searched location as a start point.

Sets the searched location as a stop-over point.

Sets the searched location as a destination point.

Guidance starts after the searched point is set to the destination.

Sets the searched point as a registered point.

5.2 Setting the navigation method


After you set the destination through pointing on the map or searching method, choose the Guide button at the bottom. Then, various navigation methods will appear such as Quick/TPEG/Short/Normal and you can choose the method you want. Prefer mode is provided on the map(Show screen) only.

Select the destination point on the map and then touch the Guide button.

Or, after search the location in the searching menu and then touch then Route button.

It can show many results through the various navigation methods to the destination. If you choose the navigation method you want, the route will display on the map.

Compare the various navigation methods and then choose the method you want and touch the Guide button to start the route guidance.

All the options about the route navigation are displayed by the options set in the Route Options menu. For more information, see the 6.6 Route Options.

Change the navigation method


In the Show screen, you can see the Q1 route navigation method basically set from the ROUSEN recommended. But, you can set the different route navigation method by touching the Add Route button.

Touch the route navigation mode on the map.

Touch the Add Route button on the right of the Show screen.

You can see the Prefer mode route navigation by touching the specific point on the map in the Show screen. Choose the Prefer button created to set the route navigation including prefer road.

Automatical arrayment of the stop-over point


In the route including lots of stop-over points, this function arrays the order of all stop-over points. If the stop-over places are more than two, array the order the stop-over point and destination to optimize the entire route including stop-over point.

After setting the stop-over and destination point and then touch the Edit button.

Touch the Optimize button at the bottom and touch the Apply button.

You can see the optimized route and then touch the guide button.

Multiple search
If the route has stop-over places, you can set the route navigation method differently by route section such as start-stop over, stop over-destination.

After setting the stop-over and destination point and then touch the Edit button.

Touch the route navigation button of the section you will modify.(e.g.: Q1)

Search a detour
You can search a detour on the current road. Choose the detour distance (1/2/4/10km) or options such as Avoid Main Road/Avoid the next point/Select to avoid-points to set a detour.

Touch the route navigation mode on the map..

Touch the Add Route button in the Show screen.

Choose a detour distance (1/2/4/10km) from the current route set.

It navigates the route again based on the detour distance you chose and displays the Detour button on the right.

You can set the detour by using Avoid Main road/Avoid the next point/Select to avoidpoints options.

If you choose the Select to avoid-points button, you can check the entire route in the list. If you choose the detour place of the list then touch the Apply button, that place can be excluded from the route.

Avoid point you chose is excluded and navigates the route again and displays the Avoid button on the right.

5.3 Simulated driving


Simulated driving after searching route
After you set the route, you can check the entire route in advance through the simulated driving.

Choose the Route Info button after setting the route navigation method in the Show screen.

You can cancel the route (includes start, stop-over and destination point) you set.

Touch the route navigation mode on the map. (e.g.: Normal mode)

Touch the Cancel button.

The route is canceled if you touch the Yes button.
