THE TGB Report

Government Waste Money Again $300 million dollars wasted on two ships that where never completed and never used. According to a report by The Virginian-Pilot the Benjamin Isherwood and the Henry Eckford, are destined to leave Virginia waters for good and be scrapped at a Texas salvage yard, with no money coming back to the U.S. Treasury. I know $300 million is a drop in the bucket in the amount of money the defense department wastes but this is but one example of government waste. No Second Amendment in Baltimore

According to WBAL Mayoral candidate for Baltimore, Otis Rolley said he would, if elected, propose a $1 per bullet tax on all bullet purchases in the city. This is his way of curbing gun violence in Charm City. I guess it is beyond the grasp Mr. Rolley but for the rest of the thinking public this will do nothing but reduce the ability of the law abiding citizens from protecting themselves. Not to mention the clear violation of the Second Amendment which, affords one to protect his life, liberty, and property through arms? The gun laws in Maryland have done nothing to deter crime in the City of Baltimore. It has made easy targets of the men, women, and children who live by the law of the land while criminals run wild. Protecting people from violence is a noble goal but as a wise man once said the road to hell is paved with good intentions.
Ark. Town Council Bans Civic Group, New Organizations

An article from the New American caught my eye yesterday that should really not surprise anyone at this point in our history. The town council of Gould, Arkansas passed an ordinance that banned citizens groups from forming without their permission. Furthermore they have also forbidden and organization to meet with the mayor without their permission. This is a clear violation of the first amendment and freedom of assembly. The explanation for all this is that it will cut down on the friction between the council and the mayor. I have rarely seen this level of arrogance by a public servant.

Debt ceiling and the Economy.

An Associated Press article stated the following; President Barack Obama and a startling number of Republican senators lauded a deficit-reduction plan put forward earlier in the day by a bipartisan "Gang of Six" lawmakers that calls for $1 trillion in what sponsors delicately called "additional revenue" and some critics swiftly labeled as higher taxes. Well this is typical of Washington when they have a budget problem. Do we make hard choices and start living within the $200 billion a month in taxes collect on average? No we decide to add more in taxes so the spending can go on and on while incurring more debt. The unemployment numbers according to John Williams Shadow Statistics is 22.7%, or 68.1 million people are out of work.

From Stan Collender's blog Capital Gains, and Games I don't think the plan changes the overall situation at all unless House Republicans are suddenly willing to agree to the $1 trillion increase in taxes that they so far have been completely unwilling to do. The fact that the White House embraced the proposal so quickly may also make it hard...or even impossible...for the House GOP to get on board quickly From what I read of the plan it does nothing but make hollow promises to make cuts in the future and offering minimal cuts up front that will amount to nothing. In addition there looks to be $1 trillion in extra taxes as stated above. Ben Bernanke is looking to add more money to the system in some form of QE3 only just a few weeks after he stated the opposite. Well typical Federal Reserve doublespeak. Promising one thing and then reneging on it just a few weeks later. Instead of continuing a problem causes by the Federal Reserve and the fraction reserve system. How about you do the best thing you can do in this situation which is NOTHING!!!! Yes, the economy will get worst in the short term but the built up poor investments that has taken place over the past two decades will start to unwind. A heroin user will start out just using a little day by day as a recreational user. But soon he will have to use more and more often to just feel normal. Before long they will need to use multiple times today to avoid getting sick. But, if they want to get better and not die of an overdose he will have to stop using the drug. This will cause a period of time where the user will be feel sick and feverish. But this is a necessary process to purge all the junk out of their system. In the long run they will be healthier and live a longer life. This is exactly what needs to be done to the economy before we overdose and the system dies. Obama gave a speech about sacrifice on Monday when talking about debt ceiling. He stated that College loans may not be paid and Social Security may not get their checks if the ceiling was not raised. This is all a scare tactic to through you off the big picture. The government has run up huge debts in your name and is telling you to take out another credit card to pay down the interest and continue to purchase more. Congressman Paul asked this week if you would allow this arrangement to go on if your neighbor took out a mortgage and credit cards in your name and then continue to do so with the treat that if you did not acutest that the default would prevent you from purchasing goods and services. At some point we must bite the bullet and not allow the ceiling to be raised then and only then will the hard decisions be made and true and meaningful budget cuts be implemented. Bigot and Chief When in the hell will Herman Cain get a clue? In an article in the Personal Liberty Digest Herman Cain, a
businessman seeking the Republican nod in the 2012 Presidential race, spoke out against a planned mosque Sunday. The CEO-turned-candidate said communities have the right to ban mosques, and to do so would not be discriminating based upon (Muslims) religion. Despite the claim that he (Cain) is a strict Constitutionalist

I guess he did get down to the part about freedom of religion. It is after all down in the Bill of Rights in Amendment numero uno. This guy is a former Federal Reserve Governor who sees no problem with the fraction reserve system and now apparently doesnt mind if you discriminate on religion. In plain speak he is a dummy and should be laughed out of any serious consideration for the Republican Nomination.

Ron Paul one Day fund drive The one day money bomb for Congressman Ron Pauls Presidential candidate racketed up $604,100.50 yesterday on July 19th. He had just come in second place in second quarter fundraising with $4.5 million. He has been polling extremely well despite not getting much attention in the mainstream media. He has polled in the top three in many of the major polls most of the time in first or a close second. Congressman Paul has the best shot of winning that he has ever had. If you want a candidate who stands for what he believes in and will bring real meaningful change to this country than he is your candidate.
