This is an email update featuring developments in the field of disability from around the world. Because of the importance of social justice as a basis for our work, we added this as topic into our newsletter. A) Developments in the field of Disability 1. Questionnaire on Civil Society Perspectives concerning the Second Asian and Pacific Decade of Disabled Persons, 2003-2012 The High-level Intergovernmental Meeting on the Final Review of the Implementation of the Asian and Pacific Decade of Disabled Persons, 20032012 will be hosted by the Government of the Republic of Korea at Incheon in October 2012. That Meeting will set the strategic agenda for the next phase of disabilityrelated endeavours in Asia and the Pacific, reflecting the regions changing social and economic conditions. Commission resolution 66/11 of 19 May 2010 mandates the participation of all key stakeholders, including organizations of persons with disabilities from Asia-Pacific, in the preparatory process leading up to the Meeting: Please follow link 2. Please see communication from Leonard Cheshire Disability (LCD) regarding a conference on "Disability-Inclusive MDGs and Aid Effectiveness" I am pleased to let you know that the call for papers for next years conference in Bangkok is now open. The conference website is live, and abstract submissions can be uploaded online (as well as by email) here: www.lcdisability.org/aideffectiveness The date of conference: 12th 14th March 2012.
