Degree Programmes ANNA UNIVERSITY, CHENNAI 600 025 Advertisement No.0303/EA4/TANCA/2011 Tamil Nadu Common Admissions (TANCA) 2011 is administered by Anna University, Chennai on behalf of the Government of Tamil Nadu. Applications are invited for Admissions to M.E. / M.Tech. / M.Arch. / M.Plan. Degree Programmes offered in the University Departments of Anna University, Chennai, Anna University of Technology Chennai, Anna University of Technology Coimbatore, Anna University of Technology Madurai, Anna University of Technology Tiruchirappalli, Anna University of Technology Tirunelveli, Government, Government Aided institutions, and seats surrendered by the Self Financing Engineering Colleges in Tamil Nadu for the academic year 2011-12 through single window (TANCA 2011) counselling. The list of colleges and courses offered for admission through single window counselling is available in Anna University website: www.annauniv.edu/tanca2011. APPLICATION FORM Candidates should submit separate application for each category as given below.
1. GATE Category a. GATE A (Engineering / Technology) category: Candidates who have a valid GATE score with qualifying marks for assistantship in the appropriate discipline of Engineering / Technology. b. GATE B (Engineering Science (XE) / Life Science (XL) category: Candidates who have a valid GATE score with qualifying marks for assistantship in Engineering Science (XE) and Life Science (XL) papers. Candidates should have also appeared for TANCET 2011. 2. Non-GATE category: (TANCET 2011 score only) 3. Sponsored category: (with TANCET 2011 score) only for University Departments
of Anna University, Chennai-25.

ELIGIBILITY Candidates who have passed all the subjects in the recognised qualifying degree with a minimum of 50 % marks for General category and 45 % marks for reserved categories, BC / BCM / MBC & DNC / SC / SCA / ST candidates belonging to Tamil Nadu, in the qualifying examination i. ii. iii. with TANCET 2011 score (or) with valid GATE score and qualifying marks prescribed for assistantship in the appropriate discipline of Engineering / Technology (or) with valid GATE score and qualifying marks prescribed for assistantship in Engineering Science (XE) and Life Science (XL) papers along with TANCET 2011 score

shall be considered for admission to M.E./M.Tech./M.Arch./M.Plan. degree programmes. The details of eligibility criteria for admission to M.E. / M.Tech. / M.Arch./ M.Plan. degree programmes are available in the Information and Instructions to Candidates Booklet and also in Anna University website.

BY POST: Application form can also be obtained by post by sending a Demand Draft for Rs. 600/- for general (Rs. 350/- for SC/SCA/ST candidates belonging to Tamil Nadu by enclosing a copy of Permanent Community Certificate card), (includes postal charges) along with a requisition letter and an address slip written in capital letters from the Secretary, TANCA, Anna university, Chennai - 600 025. REGISTRATION THROUGH INTERNET: The application form, information and instructions to candidates are available in the website www.annauniv.edu/tanca2011. The print out application and registration fee for Rs. 500/- for General (Rs.250/- for SC/SCA/ST candidates belonging to Tamil Nadu by enclosing a copy of Permanent Community Card) in the form of a Demand Draft drawn in favour of The Secretary, Tamil Nadu Common Admissions, Anna University, Chennai payable at Chennai drawn on or after 10.7.2011, should be sent along with all the enclosures, through registered post / speed post to The Secretary, Tamil Nadu Common Admissions, Anna University,
Chennai 600 025, to reach on or before 30.7.2011 (5.30 p.m.).

Counselling date will be intimated to the individuals through a call letter / Anna University, Chennai website.
