Proverbs 21:6

VII. How do we use the talents that God gives us? Proverbs There is TREASURE to be desired and oil in the dwelling of the wise; but a 21:20 foolish man spendeth it up. Gifts of God, The All blessings are James 1:17; 2 Peter 1:3 Are dispensed according to his will Ecclesiastes 2:26; Daniel 2:21; Romans 12:6; 1 Corinthians 7:7 Are free and abundant Numbers 14:8; Romans 8:32

I. Searching for wisdom as for hidden treasure

Proverbs 2:4 If thou seekest her as silver, and searchest for her as for hid TREASUREs;
Colossians 2:1 Colossians 2:2 Colossians 2:3 For I would that ye knew what great conflict I have for you, and for them at Laodicea, and for as many as have not seen my face in the flesh; That their hearts might be comforted, being knit together in love, and unto all riches of the full assurance of understanding, to the acknowledgment of the mystery of God, and of the Father, and of Christ; In whom are hid all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge.

II. Wisdom is better than the substance of fine gold Proverbs 8:21
Luke 6:32 Luke 6:33 Luke 6:34 Luke 6:35

That I may cause those that love me to inherit substance; and I will fill their TREASUREs.

For if ye love them which love you, what thank have ye? for sinners also love those that love them. And if ye do good to them which do good to you, what thank have ye? for sinners also do even the same. And if ye lend to them of whom ye hope to receive, what thank have ye? for sinners also lend to sinners, to receive as much again. But love ye your enemies, and do good, and lend, hoping for nothing again; and your reward shall be great, and ye shall be the children of the Highest: for he is kind unto the unthankful and to the evil. Moreover when ye fast, be not, as the hypocrites, of a sad countenance: for they disfigure their faces, that they may appear unto men to fast. Verily I say unto you, They have their reward. But thou, when thou fastest, anoint thine head, and wash thy face; That thou appear not unto men to fast, but unto thy Father which is in secret: and thy Father, which seeth in secret, shall reward thee openly.

Matthew 6:16 Matthew 6:17 Matthew 6:18

III. Treasures of wickedness profit nothing Proverbs 10:2 TREASUREs of wickedness profit nothing: but righteousness delivereth from death.
Colossians 2:8 James 1:5 Beware lest any man spoil you through philosophy and vain deceit, after the tradition of men, after the rudiments of the world, and not after Christ.

If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him.

James 1:6 James 1:7 James 1:8

But let him ask in faith, nothing wavering. For he that wavereth is like a wave of the sea driven with the wind and tossed. For let not that man think that he shall receive any thing of the Lord. A double minded man is unstable in all his ways.

IV. The treasure of righteousness Proverbs 15:6

Matthew 6:19 Matthew 6:20 Matthew 6:21 I Timothy 6:20 I Timothy 6:21

In the house of the righteous is much TREASURE: but in the revenues of the wicked is trouble.
Lay not up for yourselves treasures upon earth, where moth and rust doth corrupt, and where thieves break through and steal: But lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust doth corrupt, and where thieves do not break through nor steal: For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also.

O Timothy, keep that which is committed to thy trust, avoiding profane and vain babblings, and oppositions of science falsely so called: Which some professing have erred concerning the faith. Grace be with thee. Amen.

V. You dont have to have a lot of money to be rich Proverbs 15:16 Proverbs
3:13

Better is little with the fear of the LORD than great TREASURE and trouble therewith.
Happy is the man that findeth wisdom, and the man that getteth understanding. For the merchandise of it is better than the merchandise of silver, and the gain thereof than fine gold. She is more precious than rubies: and all the things thou canst desire are not to be compared unto her. Length of days is in her right hand; and in her left hand riches and honour. Her ways are ways of pleasantness, and all her paths are peace. She is a tree of life to them that lay hold upon her: and happy is every one that retaineth her.

VI. Do you really have treasure if you have to sin in order to get it? Proverbs 21:6
I Corinthians 3:18 I Corinthians 3:19

The getting of TREASUREs by a lying tongue is a vanity tossed to and fro of them that seek death.
Let no man deceive himself. If any man among you seemeth to be wise in this world, let him become a fool, that he may be wise. For the wisdom of this world is foolishness with God. For it is written, He taketh the wise in their own craftiness.

VII. How do we use the talents that God gives us? Proverbs 21:20
Matthew 25:14 Matthew 25:15 Matthew 25:16 Matthew 25:17 Matthew 25:18 Matthew 25:19 Matthew 25:20

There is TREASURE to be desired and oil in the dwelling of the wise; but a foolish man spendeth it up.
For the kingdom of heaven is as a man travelling into a far country, who called his own servants, and delivered unto them his goods. And unto one he gave five talents, to another two, and to another one; to every man according to his several ability; and straightway took his journey. Then he that had received the five talents went and traded with the same, and made them other five talents. And likewise he that had received two, he also gained other two. But he that had received one went and digged in the earth, and hid his lord's money. After a long time the lord of those servants cometh, and reckoneth with them. And so he that had received five talents came and brought other five talents, saying, Lord, thou deliveredst unto me five talents: behold, I have gained beside them five

Matthew 25:21 Matthew 25:22 Matthew 25:23 Matthew 25:24 Matthew 25:25 Matthew 25:26 Matthew 25:27 Matthew 25:28 Matthew 25:29 Matthew 25:30

talents more. His lord said unto him, Well done, thou good and faithful servant: thou hast been faithful over a few things, I will make thee ruler over many things: enter thou into the joy of thy lord. He also that had received two talents came and said, Lord, thou deliveredst unto me two talents: behold, I have gained two other talents beside them. His lord said unto him, Well done, good and faithful servant; thou hast been faithful over a few things, I will make thee ruler over many things: enter thou into the joy of thy lord. Then he which had received the one talent came and said, Lord, I knew thee that thou art an hard man, reaping where thou hast not sown, and gathering where thou hast not strowed: And I was afraid, and went and hid thy talent in the earth: lo, there thou hast that is thine. His lord answered and said unto him, Thou wicked and slothful servant, thou knewest that I reap where I sowed not, and gather where I have not strowed: Thou oughtest therefore to have put my money to the exchangers, and then at my coming I should have received mine own with usury. Take therefore the talent from him, and give it unto him which hath ten talents. For unto every one that hath shall be given, and he shall have abundance: but from him that hath not shall be taken away even that which he hath. And cast ye the unprofitable servant into outer darkness: there shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth.
