PREFACE

I have completed this project on TO STUDY AND ANALYZE THE MARKET OF PLASTIC BOTTELS AND GLASS IN FORTHCOMING DAYZ , as practical training targeting towards acquiring total knowledge of company working in the SALES department.

The objective of having a summer project is to have an opportunity to learn various Sales & Marketing practices which are actually practiced by top managers and executives.

I choose VARUN BEVERAGES , Greator Noida, which is one of the franchise of a big soft drinks company that is PEPSI CO..

This report includes first hand study of MARKETING AND SALES to acquire vivid knowledge.

ABSTRACT

This project is designed to suggest the VARUN BEVERAGES , for implementing BALANCE SCORE CARD, to increase the efficiency of their organization, and to a part of those organization who are using balance score card , and to easily cope up with the challenges of present time.

The research was carried out by taking the interviews of the persons related to corporate industries and the consultany services indulged in the practice of implementation of balance score card.

First of all the basics of balance score card were studied , and then the expert interviews were taken to take their view about the balance score card ,and its feasibility in J K ORGANIZATION.

This report gives a fair idea to the company for the production of Glass Bottles and Plastic Bottles.

LIMITATIONS OF THE STUDY

In this section I would like to point out the main limitation of the project work.

1,Time was a big limiting factor due to wich wider sample could not be studied and a wider range of geographical area could not be accessed. 2.Two month is avery short span of time during wich a manangemnt student cannot become expertly proficient in his area of interest,so this span of time may be extended further soas toa llow the student to gain proficiency in his area of disxipline 3.The size of the data is not sufficient for marketing research;some time it doesnt give relevant or valid result 4/I also dont have enough information regarding competitive brands,like there price stratigies &facilites service etc. 5.Future market research should be made with more no. of samples ,so that we should easily get the crystal clear image of the forthcoming dayz.

SWOT ANALYSIS Swot analysis provide information that is helpful in matching the firms rsources and capabilities to the competitive eneviroment I wich it operates . As such it is instrumental in strategy formulation nd selection as it is based on its strength,weakness ,opportunity and threats Swot analysis is basically used as an important techniques through wich a company knw its positive features and can overcome its negeative aspects by property scanning the business ebviroment in wich it operates.

The swot analysis of pepsi is as follows:---STRENGTH A frims strength its resources and capabilities that can be used as a a bais for developing competitive advantage .The strength of Coca-Coal and Pepsi can be listed as following 1. The company is havinga large product profile providing almost all the flavours preferres by the concumers

2.The product are available in different types of packs that can be easily accessed and handeled 3.Pepsi has a wide reach and penetration in the market as it has a favourable accesss to distribution networkd 4.pepsi provides Scheme and other Facilites to the retailers due that retailers fell happy to sell more more pepsi products 5.Peppsi posses a good infrastructure including the transport vehicles which assist in widening its reach 6.The company provides various facilites to its consumers to promote display and visibility of its products WEAKNESSS

1.While in distributing the products of the company smotimes Salesman are not doing there job in perfect amnner 2.The company has insufficient Indirect reach. 3.Company emphasizes more on distributor so evry scheme goest to in hand of distributors so retailer gets frustrated

4.Company doesnt provide the requistie training to its salesman to handle all the queries of the retailers.

OPPORTUNITY Proper external enviroment analysis may reveal certain new opportunite for growth and profit of the company 1.High growth rate of foftdrinks 2,Introduction of a new product/flavour can create a wide area of the market 3.The company should provide few things with its pet bottles to attract consumers ,which will help to promote ists sales 4.Packs of products can be easily handeled by the consumers making it look more attractie and refreshing

THREATS 1.The aggrasive nature of the competitoprs is the main threat of the company 2.The distributors network of its competitors is more flexible 3.The company faces storng competition from each other and other juice manufacturing company like dabur ,priya gold 4.Other competitors providfe a wide range of schemes to the retailers ,which diverts their preferences as they all are only interested in profits.

ADVANTAGES OF QUESTIONAIRE METHOD Probably the greatest advantage of the questionnaire method is its versatility; Almost every problem of marketing research can be approached from the questionnaire standpoint.

Questiononing is usually faster and cheaper than observing .Interviews have more control over their data gathering activites than do observers

It is an impersonal techniques and does not call for any special skills or training on the part of the investigations.

DISADVANTAGES OF QUESTIONAIRE METHOD

Despite the fact that questionnaire method is widely used in marketing research, it has several important limitations-\

1. Unwillingness of the respondent to provide information 2. Influencing of questioning process 3. Non- response rate is very high 4. Unintellegent answers or misinterpretation of the cooperation of the respondent

SAMPLING PLAN In sampling plan the following factors are considerdA) SAMPLIMNG UNIT The potential Coke and Pepsi Outlets ,Provisional Store,Restaurants,Grocery Stores,Eating and Drinking Corners,Dhaba, Kiosks,Stationary Shops in Gaziabad taken as Sampling unit to concentrate and do in depth study on the concerned project title.The universe studied involves retailers in these areas. B) SAMPLING SIZE Sample size of the study is 200 customer in Mails,Resturentand Shops.

C) SAMPLING PROCEDURE In my project point of view I have taken mainly the method of 1) Survey of coke and Pepsi Out let 2) Personal interview by Questionnaire Technique

1)in the personal Interview of questionnaire techqunique I usually gathered Infrmation by face 2 face interviewing .In this survey method I saw the respondent was shown the exhibit and advertisement to give his personal opinion and attitude .In this method the direct interaction on occurred with the retailers and I could collect the reliable information from them, It had also cost advantage thats why some areas were diffucult to coverd.

RESEARCH INSTRUMENT A structured non disguised Shopkeeper Response Form/Questionnaire was developed as a research instrument for collecting the desired information .All types of questions were used while talking with the retailers and dealers of soft drinks

QUESTIONNAIRES This is the most popular tool for the data collection .A questionnaire contains question that the researcher wishes to ask his respondents which is always guided by the objective by the survey .It also contains a suitable space where the answers can be recorded .Questionnaire has been prepared in such a manner that the accurate information about the visibility and acceptability of the coke products is obtained

A questionnaire is a method of obtaining specific information about a defined problem so that the data, after analysis and interpretation ,results in a better appreciation of the problem.A questionnaire form,which has to be completed by an interviewer,is often referred as schedule
