Dear Mr Traill Freedom of Information request re number of complaints I understand that you submitted a request for information on the Colleges Facebook page on 10 June 2011 asking for information on how many complaints have been registered for each complete month of 2011. It is with regard to this request that I am now writing to you. I am assuming that your e-mail of 11 July 2011 requesting a review of a request you made to which you have had no response also refers to the same request. I have reviewed your request for information on how may complaints have been registered for each complete month of 2011 and now give you the Colleges response as follows: January 2011 2 February 2011 1 March 2011 5 April 2011 3 May 2011 5 June 2011 1 I trust that this is helpful. The College is subject to the provisions of the Freedom of Information (Scotland) Act 2002. If you are not satisfied with the response you have received to your request for a review of your request for information, you have the right to apply for a decision to the Scottish Information Commissioner. From: Michael Traill [mailto:michael@michaeltraill.co.uk] Sent: 11 July 2011 16:57 To: Bruce, Alison Subject: Request for internal review. Dear Ms Bruce I tried to contact you this evening to discuss the Colleges refusal to provide the information requested in my request for information submitted in accordance with the provisions of the freedom of information (Scotland) Act 2002, unfortunately you were on leave and instead I had the most bizarre conversation with a member of your staff. One which has left a rather bitter taste in my mouth given that I have such a good working relationship with those who deal with FOI requests for information across various public bodies in Edinburgh and the Country as a whole. As you were not around to discuss the matter informally, I must advise you that I consider your failure to provide the request information a refusal. I therefore request that an internal review of my request for information be carried out as soon as possible

examining the handling of my request. I would remind you that the review should be carried out, and responded to within 20 working days of this email. I look forward to hearing from you in due course. Regards Michael Traill
