Golden Rules for Helipad Safety: Always be aware of the situation in the helipad.

Always be aware and cautious around a helicopter. Never run around a helicopter. Never wear a hat around a helicopter. Always wear your safety gear. ABC HELIPAD PERSONNEL 1. Helipad Control Officer (HCO) Duties: 1) Supervises the landing and take-off of the ABC Helicopter from the ABC Helipad 2) Communicates with OMNI Aviation for all ABC Helicopter activities When to contact OMNI? a) Notification of interruption to availability of helipad (due to maintenance work, poor weather, or other circumstances that prevent helicopters from landing or taking off from the helipad for the day). b) 3) Records all activities occurring within the ABC Helipad 4) Conducts daily/regular inspections on helipad area and equipment a. Identifying obstacles in the helipad A report detailing the location and relative height of the obstacle, along with photos of the potential obstacle, should be submitted immediately to the Hotel Manager so that the issue could be addressed by Hotel Maintenance crew promptly. If the obstacle was identified right before a scheduled landing of the ABC Helicopter, notify the helicopter pilot immediately as well as the Hotel Manager. Remove the potential obstacle before allowing the helicopter to land. However, if the pilot decides that the obstacle identified is not an urgent threat to landing, clear away the obstacle at the soonest possible time after the helicopter has landed and the rotor blades have shut down completely. 2. Helipad Security Officer (HSO) Duties: 1) Ensures the safety of all people within the ABC Helipad premises at all times 2) Raises/lowers the safety rail prior to helicopter landing/take-off from the helipad

3) Escorts passengers to and from ABC Helipad to the ABC Helicopter 4) Maintains cleanliness at all possible times in the ABC Helipad for safety purposes OPERATIONS I. HELICOPTER LANDING PROCEDURE 1. HSO - Contact OMNI to report scheduled landing, helipad weather and flight path 2. HCO - Clear helipad area of all obstacles and hazardous materials 3. HCO - Lower safety rails in preparation for helicopter landing 4. HSO - Coordinate with ABC Helicopter pilot for landing procedures 5. HSO - Guide the helicopter to touch down on helipad through approved signals 6. HCO - Raise the safety rails once the helipad touches down and rotor blades have stopped moving 7. HCO - Guide the ABC Helicopter passengers to the helipad exit 8. HSO - Record the time and conditions of landing in the Logbook 9. HSO - Report the successful landing to OMNI Aviation II. HELICOPTER TAKE-OFF PROCEDURE III. HELIPAD DAILY MAINTENANCE Inspection of serviceability of wind indicator (ex. Wind Sock) Clearing of hazardous materials (ex. Loose wires, cords, plastic bags, forgotten baggage) Inspection of fire safety equipment and other helipad equipment and tools Logging of inspection activities in Daily Record Book Contacting OMNI to report serviceability of helipad for the day
