CONTROLLER OF EXAMINATIONS Pay Band : ` 37400-67000 (Grade Pay ` 10,000/-) Minimum Qualifications: Masters Degree with at least 55% of the marks or its equivalent grade of B in the UGC seven-point scale. At least 15 years of experience as Assistant Professor in the AGP of ` 7000/- and above or with 8 years of service in the AGP of ` 8000/- and above including as Associate Professor along with experience in Educational Administration OR Comparable experience in research establishment and / or other institutions of higher education. OR 15 years of administrative experience of which 8 years shall be as Deputy Registrar or an equivalent post. DEPUTY REGISTRAR Pay Band : ` 15600-39100 (Grade Pay ` 7,600/-) i. Masters Degree with at least 55% of the marks or its equivalent grade of B in the UGC seven-point scale.

Nine years of experience as Assistant Professor in the AGP of ` 6000/- and above with experience in educational administration.

OR Comparable experience in research establishment and / or other institutions of higher education. OR 5 years of administrative experience as Assistant Registrar or in an equivalent post in Central University / similar institution. INTERNAL AUDIT OFFICER (ON DEPUTATION) Pay Band : ` 15600-39100 (Grade Pay ` 7,600/-) Officers holding analogous posts on regular basis or with 5 years regular service in the scale of pay of ` 10000-15200 (Pre-Revised) from the Central / State Government, Universities and other autonomous organizations. EXECUTIVE ENGINEER Pay Band : ` 15600-39100 (Grade Pay ` 6,600/-) Minimum Qualifications: A Bachelors Degree in Civil Engineering with 10 years of experience in design and systems and construction of building, roads, sanitary and water supply systems including maintenance of the same. Desirable: Post-graduate Degree in structures. Age limit for direct recruits: 40 years ASSISTANT LIBRARIAN Pay Band : ` 15600-39100 (Academic Grade Pay ` 6,000/-) Minimum Qualifications: i. Masters Degree in Library Science/Information Science/ Documentation Science or an equivalent professional degree with at least 55% marks (or an equivalent grade in a point scale wherever grading system is followed) and a consistently Good Academic Record with knowledge of computerization of Library.

Qualifying in the National Level Test conducted for the purpose by the UGC or any other agency approved by the UGC. However, candidates, who are, or have been awarded Ph.D. degree in accordance with the University Grants Commission (Minimum Standards and Procedure for Award of Ph.D. Degree), Regulations 2009, shall be exempted from the requirement of the minimum eligibility condition of NET/SLET/SET for recruitment and appointment of University Assistant Director of Physical Education / College Director of Physical Education & Sports.

ASSISTANT REGISTRAR Pay Band : ` 15600-39100 (Grade Pay ` 5,400/-) Minimum Qualifications: i. Masters Degree with at least 55% of the marks or its equivalent grade of B in the UGC seven-point scale. The candidate must have Good Academic Record. (Note: Under the term Good Academic Record the candidate must have obtained atleast 50% marks in each of the two public examinations / degrees immediately preceding the Masters Degree).

MEDICAL OFFICER Pay Band : ` 15600-39100 (Grade Pay ` 5,400/-) Minimum Qualifications: Medical Graduate (Allopathic) with 5 years experience as General Duty Officer in a residential teaching institution or a hospital of repute. Candidates with post-graduate qualifications will be preferred. Age limit for direct recruits: 35 years PRIVATE SECRETARY Pay Band : ` 9300-34800 (Grade Pay ` 4,600/-) Minimum Qualifications: Graduate in any discipline.

Qualified in the examination held by Board of Technical Education, of the State Government or its equivalent examination. Typing speed, 40 wpm. Stenography speed 100 wpm. A good knowledge of computers. Experience as Personnel Assistant, of not less than 5 years in State / Central / Universities. Age limit for direct recruits: 30 years ESTATE OFFICER Pay Band : ` 9300-34800 (Grade Pay ` 4,600/-) Minimum Qualifications: A second class Bachelors degree in Civil Engineering with a minimum of 5 years experience in construction and maintenance of Buildings and Estate Management. Age limit for direct recruits: 30 years ASSISTANT ENGINEER Pay Band : ` 9300-34800 (Grade Pay ` 4,600/-) Minimum Qualifications: A degree in Civil Engineering with 5 years experience of supervising Civil works in any Govt. / Govt. approved Contractor. A Graduate or an equivalent qualification from a recognized University. 2. Atleast 15 years experience in Police/Para-Military Forces/ Armed Forces of the Union and held not below the rank of Sub-

Inspector (Exe)/Subedar or an equivalent position with Exemplary service. 3. Holding a Valid Driving License to ride Jeep/Motor Cycle. Desirable: 1. Completion of a course in Fire Fighting or Unarmed Combat Course in Army or Para-Military Force. 2. Should able to speak English and Hindi. Note: 1. Selection will be done on the basis of an endurance, driving test of Motor Cycle followed by an interview. 2. The selected candidate has to wear Uniform after joining the University service. 3. The selection committee may co-opt one suitable Group A Police Officer or Commissioned Officer from Armed Forces of the Union as Expert member.

Qualified in the examination held by a Govt. Board of Technical Education or its equivalent examination. Typing speed, 40 wpm. Stenography speed 100 wpm. Good working knowledge of computer applications.

Experience as Personnel Assistant, of not less than 5 years in Central / State Universities. Age limit for direct recruits: 30 years JUNIOR ENGINEER (CIVIL / ELECTRICAL) Pay Band : ` 9300-34800 (Grade Pay ` 4,200/-) Minimum Qualifications: A Degree in Civil / Electrical Engineering with at least three years experience or a Diploma in Civil / Electrical Engineering with at least five years experience in supervision of erection/ maintenance of Civil / Electrical works. Good working knowledge of computer applications. Age limit for direct recruits: 30 years NURSE Pay Band : ` 9300-34800 (Grade Pay ` 4,200/-) Minimum Qualifications: B.Sc, Nursing Degree or two years Diploma in Nursing from a recognized Institution/ Authority. 2 years for B.Sc degree holders and 3 years experience for Diploma holders in Nursing in a reputed Hospital or Clinics. 1. Reservation for SCs/STs, OBCs and PHs for all posts exists as per the guidelines of the UGC / GOI. Candidates applying for the reserved posts should clearly state to which category they belong. They must also enclose attested Photostat copy of Caste Certificate/ Medical Certificate from the concerned competent authorities. The form of caste certificate to be produced by other backward class candidates must be in the format as prescribed by the Govt. of India (please visit website www.ncbc.nic.in for further details). Otherwise, the application will be summarily rejected without further consideration. 2. The prescribed qualifications and experience are minimum and the mere fact that a candidate possesses the same will not entitle him/her for being called for interview. The University reserves the right to restrict the candidates to be called for interview to a reasonable number on the basis of qualifications and experience higher than the minimum prescribed, or by any other condition that may deem fit. 3. It would be open to the University to consider the names of suitable persons who may not have applied, but recommended by experts in their respective fields. 4. The statutory provision for relaxing of age, experience etc. prescribed in case of the candidates belonging to SC/ST/OBC/PH categories will be made applicable to them as per UGC / GOI norms in force at time of interview. Candidates are advised to check UGC and other relevant websites for updated information. 5. The number of vacancies indicated in this leaflet is tentative. The University reserves the right to increase/ decrease the number of posts, at the time of selection.

6. The panel of selected waitlisted candidates will be valid for one year from the date of approval of competent authority and University shall make appointments on consequential / new vacancies. 7. The University may offer lower post to a candidate who may have applied for a higher post in case suitable candidates are not available for the advertised posts. 8. Outstation candidates belonging to SC/ST categories called for interview will be paid contribution equivalent to return single second-class railway fare towards journey expenses on production of ticket numbers/proof as provided under Government of India Rules. 9. Canvassing in any form on behalf of any candidate will disqualify such candidate. 10. Selection will be made on the basis of candidates previous record, their performance in the test / interview ( wherever applicable). 11. Candidates already in service should submit their applications through proper channel failing which the application is liable to be rejected. 12. Separate application should be submitted for each post. 13. Experience and qualifications will be reckoned as on 03.08.2011. Good Photostat copies of all important certificates must be attached with the application. 14. Applications incomplete in any respect will not receive any consideration at all. 15. No interim queries regarding test/interview/ selection will be entertained. 16. University reserves the right not to fill up any of the vacancies advertised, if the circumstances so warranted. 17. University will not be responsible for any postal delay at any stage. 18. New pension scheme in accordance with the O.M.No.1 (13) EV/2001, Govt. of India, Ministry of Finance, Department of Expenditure, dated 15.03.2004, will be applicable with subsequent amendments made or will be made from time to time. 19. In case of any disputes/suites or legal proceedings against the University, the Jurisdiction shall be restricted to the Courts in Gulbarga, which is the Headquarter of the University. 20. Errors and omissions are subject to corrections. i) ii) SC/ST/PH candidates need not pay Registration Fee. Application form and information booklet are available on University website www.cuk.ac.in. The same can also be obtained by hand by payment of Rs.50/through Demand Draft of any nationalized bank drawn in favour of Central University of Karnataka and payable at Gulbarga or Rs.100/- if the application is to be obtained by post. Filled-in application form along with registration fee of

Rs.250/- (in case of downloaded applications Rs.300/-) through crossed Demand Draft drawn in favour of Central University of Karnataka on any Nationalized bank payable at Gulbarga. The filled in applications together with the requisite Demand Drafts and copies of other documents viz., education & experience certificates, publications, etc., should reach the Registrar, Central University of Karnataka, 2nd Floor, Karya Soudha, Gulbarga University Campus, GULBARGA 585 106 on or before 03.08.2011. iii) Applications received after the last date and without complete information or without requisite fee will be summarily rejected. The University will not be responsible for any postal delay.
