HDX is an Optical cross connect (High Density Crossconnect) in Lang Haul. HDX has a capacity to switch 1.28 Terabits. HDX supports DWDM technology and Gigabit Ethernet Technology (Ethernet over SONET). The product also supports ASTN (Automatically Switched Transport Network) in the control plane (GMPLS). Description

The switch configuration of HDX till Release 3.0 was of 1:1 revertive scheme and in release 4.0 the second working switch card is introduced making it to 1:2 revertive. This increases the switching capacity from 640 Gbps to 1.2 Terabits. Hot Insertion support on the MSC (Multi Service Carrier). MSC is a port card or a traffic carrying card which can have pluggable modules. Support for 80G on the port card. Port card which supported a maximum of 40G is increased to 80G with additional ports. 3. WIPRO RPR Conformance Suite RPR is Resilient Packet Ring. RPR sits over SONET. RPR is a layer 2 protocol giving different classes of services and efficient use bandwidth. It provides many privileges to SONET like Auto Discovery of the Topology, shaping and Fairness by using classes of service. Our Conformance suite contributes in a way of validating the Performance of the RPR component sitting on a ring. 4. Wipro NGSONET Component Rel-1.0 LCAS is Link Capacity Adjustment Scheme. In SONET, mapping of Ethernet packets can be done only to the defined rates like OC3 or OC48. LCAS gives a way of supporting the required bandwidth for the customer by having members within the VCAT groups, so that Ethernet packets of specified bandwidth are mapped on the SONET. Our Component fits in the way as a firmware which runs the state machine for the protocol. Project Engineer SONET,C/C++ Linux Handled the analysis part of the LCAS component code in LINUX. 01/03/2004 30/03/2004 1 6 Currently working on the Conformance Suite for the LCAS standard.
